Default Sports Team Trivia

This is my favorite trivia question to ask any sports fan......

Name 5 pairs of teams with the same nickname in the four major north american leagues (NHL NFL MLB NBA)

There was 7 but now only 5....
eg: Edmonton Oilers and Houston Oilers
New York Jets and Winnipeg Jets

What are the other 5.......

My favourite, to really test die hard hockey fans.

Which future Hall of Fame goaltender proved to be the difference the first time Calgary faced the Montreal Canadiens in the Stanley Cup Final?

Answer: Georges Vezina, who gave up just one goal in the 1924 Finals as the Canadiens defeated the Tigers in two games.

Haha, I love quirky trivia Q's like this. I had actually been thinking about this last week.

Carolina and Florida Panthers
St. Louis and Arizona Cardinals
Texas and New York Rangers
New York and San Francisco Giants
Los Angeles and Sacramento Kings

I'll just tack on one of my favourites to ask.

Name all the franchises in the big NA four (NHL NFL MLB NBA) whose team name is a bird. The Chicago Blackhawks are not one of them.

For those who want to verify the correct number of teams... --> 12

Atlanta
Phoenix
New York
Boston
Miami
Denver
Philadelphia
Detroit
Chicago
Dallas
Minnesota(even though technically the hockey team's in St. Paul, not Minneapolis)
Washington D.C.

Also...could you include San Jose as San Francisco, since its the Bay Area?

Dallas (Stars, Mavs, Cowboys, Rangers)
Denver (Avs, Nuggets, Broncos, Rockies)
Minneapolis/St Paul (Wild, T-Wolves, Vikings, Twins)
Chicago (Hawks, Bulls, Bears, Cubs/Sox)
Detroit (Wings, Pistons, Lions, Tigers)

Philadelphia (Flyers, Sixers, Eagles, Phillies)
Washington (Caps, Wizards, Skins, Nats)
Miami (Panthers, Heat, Dolphins, Marlins)
Atlanta (Thrashers, Hawks, Falcons, Braves)

The NHL cities that don't qualify...
San Jose (no other sports)
LA (no football)
Anaheim (no football or basketball)
St Louis (no basketball)
Nashville (no baseball or basketball)
Columbus (no other sports)
Buffalo (no baseball or basketball)
Newark (no other sports - the Nets play in the swamp)
Pittsburgh (no basketball)
Tampa Bay (no basketball)
Raleigh-Durham (no other sports)
