Nice to see that shoe was greeted as a Liberator.

It's an Iraqi link. They're still getting that infrastructure together.

I didn't know that it was too hard to copy paste. I fixed it to make it easier for you.

It is kind of hilarious that instead of using the $5,000 to help the kids they built a shoe to honor a man for throwing shoes. I think it's great that he threw his shoes, but there is something ridiculous about that.

Think they erected the structure outside an orphanage so the US wouldn't bomb it?

Doesn't speak much for the intelligence of the monument organizers. These kids need food, let's give them irrational and religious-fueled hate instead!

Unless I am missing it, it doesn't say that the orphanage paid for the statue., just that they physically helped build it. In fact, it sounds like it was the innitiative of the artist who made it. Sure he could have gave the money to the orphans instead, as we all could do instead of spending on frivilous things.

Looks like a giant planter to me, not a statue.
Why is there a tree/bush in it?

I wonder who footed the bill for the sculpture. I think it's a shoe-in for an award!

That money could have obviously gone to a better place ... but that is pretty freaking funny to me.

"How are we going to connect this show to Bush?"
"How about a plaque?"
"No no, that wont do... I know! Let's put a fricken bush inside of the shoe"
Maybe instead have the shoe tumbling towards the bush... that would make more sense.

LOL. I didn't mean to infer that this was an excellent piece of work because of the use of skilled artistic devices.
He was commissioned to commemorate a shoe being thrown at bush so he took a huge leap and put a bush in a shoe.
I think it's horrible and hilarious at the same time.

Does it smell like urine? I bet it's a popular drop off spot.
