Thanks for this. I recently got a Carfax from a dealer that listed vastly different mileage than the actual vehicle which was a Dodge truck. I was so gullible I figured it was just a fluke but no, I did not buy the truck.

Why don't they mention that mystery competitor that they keep on using that seems to be sooooooo much better than Carfax?

Ya, they dropped the ball on that one, but it's carproof.net (by looking at their printouts). I've used carproof for my last 3 vehicle purchases and I like the fact it actively polls insurance info. Will even show quotes on autobody repairs even though the insurance company may not have received a claim.
