Default Ski Gear

I'm looking to get back into skiing. I seriously haven't been for probably 7 or 8 years and that is a shame. I used to be a pretty good skier.

Anyway, I don't have anything. No jacket, pants gloves, boots, skis or anything. I'm 25 now and i've stopped growing so I guess I can spend a bit on some gear that will last for the rest of my life.

Are there any deals on now for this kind of stuff? I guess i'd start out with pants and jacket. I can rent skis for a while and if it gets to be more serious I can buy skis.

Thanks

I dunno if there'll be any deals...check out Ski Cellar, Sport Check, etc.

If you're set on renting skis, do it the day before from somewhere like Ski Cellar, and then you can pick them up the day before, and cheaper.

Saves you time at the mountain that you can spend skiing, and it's cheaper.

If you're buying boots for the rest of your life I would recommend you go somewhere where they know their stuff and will fit you properly. I just bought new boots for the first time (I'm 21....my previous boots have all been second hand) and I looooove my new boots.
You'll probably be like me and be amazed at how much more comfortable new boots are. Boots are one of the things that have really changed because they can have both hard and soft plastics, to give you comfort and stiffness in the right places.

Anyways, my recommendation would be to just go to Ski Cellar and buy everything you need and hit the slopes!

www.backcountryoutlet.com
This is a good site to get some nice deals, although not all brands ship to Canada so it is better if you know someone in the US to get it shipped to.

I like Techno Sport on 17th, especially for boots. They know how to fit a boot, and make sure your feet will be comfortable.

Also, I am selling my pair of Technica boots, if you intersted.
