Default Caps - Ducks swap Goalies... AGAIN!

Evgeni Nabokov two 3rds and a 4th were sent off to Anaheim
for
Martin Brodeur and a 3rd.

Both goalies have struggled for their respective teams this year and the hope is that this swap will be the spark that gets both goalies, and both teams, rolling.

Thanks to Ravi for wheeling and Dealing.

WOW. Good job gents. Brodeur is better but I like Nabby more. Even deal imo.

Fabulous deal for the Ducks. I understand Brodeur has the legacy, but he's getting near the end of the road here, where Nabokov is just getting started.

^^^^Don't really agree with you on that one. Brodeur still has a couple of years left on his contract and that means he'll have his ratings for 3 years in the CPHL. Nabokov should be pretty close to Brodeur for ratings next year....I don't really see much difference in this deal. 3 years is a long ways away so seems even to me.

Yeah, I suppose 36 and 32 aren't that far off... and given Brodeur's history, his ratings should hold up in the CPHL despite his age. I actually thought Nabokov was a touch younger than he is.

IMO.... this year i get a better OV rating and hopefully better chemistry.

For next year both goalies will be 10 million dollar goalies and likely very equal in ratings.

I added the picks for the increased OV. The Age Difference is negligible as Brodeur will likely play past 40.

Simple deal, Brodeur rated higher this year, so I picked up a 3rd and a 4th in the deal. The age difference isn't as important with Brodeur given he is signed 3-4 more years in the NHL anyways (which is more then Nabby even I believe) and Brodeur is like Lidstrom with playing really well even though he gets older.

Felt like a pretty even deal, hopefully this just gets both teams going and pushes them into the playoffs.
