Default How to determine PSU type?

My girlfriend needs a new PSU for her computer. The fan has started to make noise.

Im not sure what type of PSU she needs (ATX 1 or ATX 2). The processor is an AMD Sempron 2500+ but I'm not sure what motherboard socket.

How can I determine what PSU to buy?

Thanks!

ATX rev 2.0 is backwards compatible to all previous revisions of ATX PSU's.

So long as you aren't chumping out the 400$+/- for an EPS12V unit you should be good to go with lots of the PSU's on the market.

They are now essentially commodity items unless you are gaming or doing other power intensive tasks.
