After dark, yes.
I don't get too upset about it otherwise.

Depends how loud. If I can feel it a block away... turn that crap down. There's just no need for it... you aren't doing a SPL competition while you are driving. The only thing you are doing is greatly affecting your situational awareness.
Noise by-laws are in effect ALL the time, not just at night. It's especially a piss off when I can't even enjoy your music because all I hear is low frequency bass, no notes or voice.

How much is the ticket these days?
And chances are YOU can feel it. I know everytime I come across a booming car, you feel the bass alright.

The worst are the dorks that drive down streets like 17th ave and crank their lame tunes. Bumper to bumper, we're all here to look at the cuties in skirts, and you're cranking your gay techno and have your windows wide open. Sooo cool!

^^^I agree with Displaced Flames fan!
If it's after dark at a time when most sane people are sleeping, people should be considerate. Otherwise, if they want to go deaf, have at it!

I can't find the source but I read and also heard on the local news that the loud booming can cause heart attacks. But I'm sure the culprits would probably just laugh at that notion. Loud music doesn't bug me but that loud vibrating bass gives me the creeps.. like some foreboding death march.

All it does is share the fact that a lot of today's music is basically drizzling sh@t created by uncreative ######s.
It would be nice if they kept that to themselves.
I almost hope that they turn it up a smidge too loud and their heads explode showering the inside of their car with masses of head fat and a surprising lack of brain matter.

No diferent than the Harley guys twisting their throttle for no apparent reason, all for attention. It's really embarrassing when you stop to think about it.
I wouldn't mind if they had some decent music on, maybe some Stones, Sabbath, AC/DC. But it's always some generic circus music dance garbage.

Yes, a big ol' gob of Marvin all over their interior would be quite right!

If I hear your music over the music I'm playing in my car it's maddening. I really don't need to hear what you're listening to, regardless if I like it or not.
You don't want to hear my music, I don't want to hear yours. I understand you want it to be loud to drown out road noise etc, and I can respect the fact that you want a clean and crisp sound, but there are limits, and people that take it too far, I mean come on already, I shouldn't be able to hear you across a busy intersection, and at this point I'm just seeing how long this run on sentence will last.

Saw Jeff Beck on TV today. Definitely shows that in some cases age is just a number. Why can't people drive down the street blaring that?

I have my music pretty damn loud but I listen to rock, metal and classic rock so I'm not sure if the bass is offensively loud. That being said when I pick up my friends I don't need to call, they can hear me. During the day anyway, I tone it down at night in residential neighborhoods.

The louder the better! But I may be bias my first vehicle was a show truck and had 4-10" Rockford Fosgate (when they were the best) subs in the back of my extended cab Mazda B2200. It would make my friends sick at full blast which was pretty entertaining all in itself.
My pet peeve is when someone has a loud system and their car rattles like hell. Honestly if you are going to spend the money on the system at least do it right and get your car Dyno matted. Just disgusting.
However if it is past dark it shouldn't be blasted unless you are cruising down the highway or something. Driving down a residential street is ridiculous full blast IMO.

During the day when my kids are napping, if people drive by my house with the music up to 11 I should be able to shoot out their windows.

Hate it, drives me insane. Especially down here in California where every third car is blasting annoying Mexican music. I'm a bit of a hypocrite in saying I'd be fine if it were rock, or even otherwise annoying rap (I can tolerate those) but I'm so f'ing sick of Mexican music.

If I'm chillin at home or something and I hear someone roll by with the bass pumped, I dont really care(as long as its at a reasonable hour). If we're bumper to bumper in traffic at a red light though, turn that shyte down. I usually turn my music up pretty loud, but when I hit a red light I'll turn it down until the light goes green again. To me, that's just common courtesy.

Loud music + Loud bass is very annoying at any time of the day, especially night. But I've learnt to deal with it as I live off whyte however, coming back to calgary to visit my parents who live in a quiet neighborhood... it's just too creepy how quiet it is. I mean, I can hear my neighbors having a chill picnic 4 houses down.
But what I still can't adapt to are the guys with motorcycles or huge trucks that rev their engines and do the pedal to the metal which creates a defening sound. Loud music it kinda gradually gets louder and louder but with the bikes, it's just out of nowhere. FML I need to get away from Whyte ave, just too ffing loud. Not to mention the police and firetruck sirens. Or the people screaming at the top of their lungs after leaving the bars.
