Do you wear non matching socks?
I just thought of this while I was doing laundry. I don't think i've ever in my life purposely worn 2 non matching socks. I don't think I could do it if I tried.
I have some nikes that have the check mark and one check is black and one is dark blue. Very difficult to tell apart, yet when i'm doing laundry I make sure I put the dark blue socks together and the black ones together.
Do you match your socks or not?
This is completely ridiculous but very intriguing. What does it say about you if you match or don't match?

Sometimes I'll wear two different black socks; but since they're both black, it's not noticeable.
Also, my shoelaces don't match.

When i am wearing your normal white socks i have a bunch of various brands which you can't really tell the difference between unless you're looking at the logos.

Matching socks are for chumps and the weak.

I occasionally wear non matching socks. For most people, I imagine that not a big deal, as noone would notice anyway. My socks are various bright colours, so people so notice.

So did my wife when she was delivering one of our kids.
Of course I felt duly obliged to point it out to her in front of the nurse, doctor, students etc .....
"I can't believe on a special day like this you couldn't even wear matching socks" (whole room turns round to look).
If looks could kill.

I tried once but I just couldn't do it. Even though rationally you would have had to be some kind of sock-god to tell (two different black socks of about the same sheen and thickness), I could FEEL the wrongness of it. Like having something stuck in your teeth that you can't quite get at with your tongue.

I figure who is going to stare at your socks every day? I always wear mis-matched socks, and it is "hell yeah" awesome.

And where did you get Nike's with a chick on it? They must be fake. All of mine has swooshes

I got sick and tired of matching socks, so I found the most comfy pair and bought 20 pair of them. The rest got tossed.

Hard to match socks when you keep using one for um self gratification purposes.

i have 3 different brands of black socks, but they all fit differently. thus i can't mix and match because it just bugs me having a different feeling on each foot. other than that i have no style at all, i just grab what doesn't smell funky and wear it

all my socks are black and were bought in 6 or 12 packs from wal mart the only way to differentiate some of them is by length, as some sets were longer than others
all I try to do is make sure they are reasonably the same length, beyond that, they should almost all be the same

I've been forced to occasionally. My dog tends to be fairly destructive to my socks and there are days when I've had such a short supply that I've had to chose between recycling a pair of already fairly rank socks, or pairing a couple mismatched but clean greys. Given that choice, I go with the mismatched ones. I do feel self-conscious about it, though.

Interesting. I don't think I would ever purposely wear non-matching socks (come to think about it, I don't think I've ever accidentally worn non-matching socks), but I probably wouldn't object to wearing Nike socks with different color swooshes. It reminds me of stuff like this:

Ever since the invention of black athletic socks, why would you buy anything but? Makes life so much easier. No matching. No mismatches.
