Back at Work ... 2009
This maybe should be in the confessional thread, but for some reason I am actually fighting back some depression for being at work.
Putting up with same idiots, morons, and lunatics for another year ...
I was just picking up breakfast and dealing with the usual morning crowds when I had the heartpang of sadness remembering how my mornings were for the previous week (while on holiday).
I used to be so good about looking on the bright-side, maybe this is just another sign of me sliding towards a grumpy old man ...

Two months left before they close our Canadian office and I'm out of work. Strangely enough it's difficult to get motivated.
I figured it'd be a battle to get the kid out of bed to go to school this morning, but strangely enough it was one of the easier times!

I started feeling depressed last night. The thought of calling in even crossed my mind. It's going to be a long week.

I have to say that I was depressed and stressed going to work this morning. And of course I got the usual sh%t storm of emails to deal with.
I realized how old I am getting now.

The worst for me this morning was I still had the programable thermostat set to "Vacation mode." The only thing worse than the alarm going off at 5:30 is getting out of bed at 5:30 and it's only 18 degrees in the house.

My alarm clock almost didn't make it this morning. I was actually really angry when it went off. Nearly tossed it across the room.

I had to wait on hold for half an hour so that I could get my password reset to be able to check my email. I was just about to hang up when I finally got through.

I'm so glad that I had to work last week minus New Years Day, I'm already in the swing of things. Except going back to full roads sucked this morning.

I feel exactly the same as this, and some of the other posts.
Very bummed out this morning about being here, and yes working longer hours now too.
Going back after a vacation is the worst, but it always seems especially hard after the Christmas break. This was the longest I have had off at Christmas for many years, so that probably is making it even worse.

I had to work New years Eve and New Years day, so going back won't be as hard. But working for a living in general sucks, so...

Ugh, the slew of emails was overwhelming.
On top of that, half my buddies forget how to use blackberries. BBuser1 sends out a group email to me and my buds, then BBuser2/3/4 all start bantering back to one another using reply all, not realizing that half of us don't have blackberries and have to deal with the slew of emails on Mondays/returns from vacation. I hate that.

You know, I actually decided to show up for work on Friday when no one was in and I got alot done. Now that it's Monday morning, I've dealt with all the I would normally have expected after two weeks for vacation. Now I can just coast through this Monday.
That said, this month of January is going to be hell for playing catch-up with all my clients. Ugh.

I've totally forgotten how to work. I made a "To Do" list before I left for today because I knew I'd be clueless but my list doesn't even make sense to me.
I'm just going to curl into a fetal ball for 8 hours.

Someone stole my graphing calculator from my drawer, and I forgot my login password which I was forced to change the day before vacation.
Kinda happy to be here.. So long as we still have work coming..
