I'm guessing it was Shawnessy Wal-mart. We almost went last night too.

Let me guess, there were shortages of all items with the exception of toothbrushes and deodorant?

Im done all my shopping. Well Sort of. I got my girlfriend one big present (a brand new pink laptop) but now i feel like I should get her a few little things. Dammit, Things I shouldve thought of before the 24th.,
Good luck to anyone who braves the masses of morons who wait till the last minute. I will be somewhere in line with the rest of you.

If you have to do Walmart it has to be Royal Oak Walmart!
This year is busier than last (when it was totally dead) but it is cleaner feeling than other Walmarts and no crowds. Yesterday at 7:00pm there was only one(!) person infront of me in line!

Shawnessy is always busy. I think just being on the outskirts of town you get a lot of farmers and hutterites stocking up there.

Many different ethnic backgrounds were represented. I may have seen some circus folk. The most shocking thing to me was the amount of children there at that time of night. Are you kidding me Cletus? Do your kids really want to be following along behind you at almost one in the morning so you can pick up some extra soda and cheese doodles? The toy section looked like a bomb went off in there and God help you if you need a question answered by the crack late night staff.

Deerfoot WalMart is usually a little less busy. Airdrie WalMart Supercentre is pretty good too.
Not that I advocate going to either one.

I was in the Wal-Mart on 130th Ave a couple nights ago at 2:30 am, and the amount of kids was mind boggeling.

I stopped by the Wal-Mart in North Lethbridge after I played hockey last Thursday. It wasn't busy by any stretch of the imagination. It was actually kinda scary. Some really wacko people shopping at 1:00am. Then I'd be looking at something and realized that it is dead quiet and I would walk around a couple aisles then begin to wonder if they closed the store on me.
I can't imagine the Lethbridge Wal-Marts being so quiet last couple of nights though.

I went to the Superstore at 12:30AM last Saturday and mostly it was just the stock guys who were there in the building working. They probably outnumbered customers by 2:1. There were boxes everywhere as they were putting new stuff on the shelf. I felt like I was getting in there way. It was weird.

The Walmart I went to today didn't look too busy. The parking lot was probably about half full, but when I went inside, it was insanity. Absolute insanity. Apparently, everyone needs to have a cart, no matter how few items they are picking up. They also need to stop in the aisles, look at everything, stand in front of what you are trying to look at....
...and as I mentioned in the Random thoughts thread, take pop bottles right out of your arms.
It always amuses me that the one time of year people are supposed to be better to eachother, is the one time everyone brings out their inner ######bag.

When I was at the Superstore, I went to get a cart and someone was returning theirs. I offered them a dollar for their cart and they gladly took it. When I went to return the cart later I realized that there was no dollar in it.
