Default Syncing Blackberry with Address Book Issues

So I bought a new Blackberry 8900 yesterday and simply moved my sim from my old phone over. Unfortunately all my contacts got slightly screwed up and every name has /1 or /2 after it and anyone with multiple numbers got spilt.

So rather than edit all the names on the phone, I synced it with my Address Book on my Mac.

The contacts successfully transferred from my phone to my computer and I edited them, but once I moved them back to my phone, my contact list hasn't changed.

I clicked overwrite device, so by my knowledge this should have worked. Can anyone help me out.

Even if your not a Mac guy, it should be relatively the same process on PC.

Normally the sync writes the phone numbers to the BB addressbook, doesn't it? So you might be looking in the wrong place?

It's a pain in the ass having a BB if you are Mac user, trust me. I normaly use my work laptop with Windows on it to sync my contacts. You will probably have to download PocketMac for Blackberrys (I supplied the link below).

I recently switched from the 8310 to the 9300 great phone so far, BTW. How's the battery life iggy? Mine can barely do a day and a half without having to recharge.

Taking a closer look at my contact list (on my phone) I realized that all the contacts were moved from the computer but merely duplicating everything.

So now the spelling is right, but it didn't overwrite the device like I had clicked.
So now I have nearly 400 contacts on my phone. 200 spelled correctly, 200 previously on the phone with mistakes.

I could go through and start deleting the duplicates that are incorrect, but it seems like there should be an easier way.

Edit: Thanks greerb, I downloaded that already so that's what I'm using. No idea on the battery life yet, as I have only used it for about 24 hours.

I think it didn't overwrite because it thinks they're different people. So i sees Jack & Jack/02 as different entries and doesn't overwrite.

I would try deleting the entire contact list on the BB, and then re-syncing with your address book on the Mac.
