Mortal Kombat vs DC: Universe

Anyone try this yet? Is it worth paying $50 for or is it something that should just be a rental or a buy when the price drops? I pre-ordered it about a month ago when it was $10 off but it seems to just be getting ok reviews and I'm wondering if it's even worth paying that much for or if I should buy another game instead.

I thought the idea was pretty stupid when it was first announced but I started to warm up to the idea and decided to pre-ordered it when it went on sale.

I'm pissed off they tamed down the fatalities... I mean come on, it IS Mortal Kombat.

I want to see Superman's head ripped off with spine intact!

Yeah, same here plus the fact it's metacritic rating is like 78%. There's fighting games with much better reviews around.

If you have a ps3, you can order the UK version of the game (ps3 is region free) and get the less toned done version of the game (complete with the awesome Joker bullet to the head fatality that got toned down for north america)

I played it a bunch this week. It's good, but more a rental than a purchase. Pretty easy and quick to pass the "story" modes.

The UK version of the Joker is pretty cool, but I am still very disappointed with the super toned down fatalities.

They're all pretty much the same for all the characters, and most of them are pretty lame... MK II had way better fatalities than this one.

Must have been DC not wanting Midway to completely destroy and mangle their super-heroes.

Explain to me how Sonya Blade can fight Darkseid?

The idea seems preposterous to me. Yes, Superman could work as being weak to magic but Darkseid? Come on? His Omega Beams can take out a planet.

Even the Flash could run rings around anybody. Captain Marvel is basically Superman's equal in everywhere except he's not weak to magic so who could beat him? And who is going to be able to beat Green Lantern except for Scorpion because he has a yellow costume???

Tried this game out last night, freakin awesome. Could stand a bit more gore and haven't managed to pull off a fatality yet but man, the action is incredible. LOVE smashing someone through several walls or kicking them out of an arena and pummeling them as the fall.

Great game, I'll by buying it for sure.
