Don't worry its not a pyramid scheme or anything like that

As most of you know I've taken the last few months off from work, and am not planning on returning to the workplace til late spring.

One of my dreams is to get a book published. Thanks to the lot of you, I decided on a new topic early on, and I figure I'm about three months from completing my opening draft.

Basically the topic is on the shifting battlefields and military requirements over the last 100 years with an analysis of where I think Military weapontry, doctrine and training is going to need to go over the next century. I tied it into the Canadian Military with a bit of a comparison to other nato and former warsaw pack nations.

So far I've tried to keep my political leanings out of it.

Anyways in 3 to 5 months I was hoping to have somebody take an impartial look at it so I can make any corrections then. This is not a facts verification request.

If there are any takers let me know

Thanks

I once tried writing a fictional novel, and was off to a good start, but my freakin' computer didn't save it...and I just didn't heart to start all over again (I also couldnt' even come close to remembering exactly how I made my plot transpire which made it impossible to re-write)

I'd be interested in having a look.

Drop me a PM I guess when you have something to show. Regardless, good luck on your endeavor.

That's a shame. Not interested then.

Good luck with the book.

I'll take a look at your next offering... "Roy Shivers: My Hero"

Hey Captain;

I'm just in the final stages of getting my own novel ready to publish, so I've been going through a lot of edits and reviews. I highly recommend using a professional organization for an edit before sending it off to a publisher. The Alberta Writers' Guild has a very good manuscript reading service that has fairly reasonable rates, and they attempt to get each manuscript reviewed by a writer who has experience writing in that field. There's a number of published historians in the organization, so I'm guessing they could find someone appropriate to review your manuscript.

I'd be the first person to normally jump on board and say "I'd love to do it" however with military stuff I know next to knowing, and to be honest don't have a huge interest.

an impartial view is good me thinks, but an uneducated one isn't. If worse comes to worse I'll gladly try and debate the other side.
