Thumbs up Polar Bear - I come in peace

Stuart Brown describes Norbert Rosing's striking images of a wild polar bear coming upon tethered sled dogs in the wilds of Canada 's Hudson Bay:

The photographer was sure that he was going to see the end of his dogs when the polar bear wandered in, but

The Polar Bear returned every night that week to play with the dogs.

Wow that is just amazing! I would have loved to have witnessed that. Im sure the dogs were glad that the bear was friendly! That reminds me of one of the things thats on my "to do" list before I die...get to experience going on a sleigh ride with some dogs in some nice peaceful area! So different than my very urban lifestyle in the San Fran area....it's my moms dream too. I think Im going to go with her soon before the day comes that she can't go!

Anyway, thanks for this post..its incredible!

We had a polar bear come into town last week. It decided to eat the dogs food right next to the school and was about to munch on the dog when it was scared away by gunshot.

Don't let this video fool you. Although these bears are very beautiful they are also extremely dangerous. Usually they stay away from dogs in general and most people have huskies here to act as watchdogs for bears that wonder into town.

They realize that in order to rule the world, they have to work together.

Haven't eaten for 4 months and probably has had no female polar bear late night visits either... He just need some love.
