First game for all the newbies, I'm looking forward to watching Pogge. I hope Getzlaf is back tonight...anyone heard how serious his elbow injury is? I also believe the game is on Shaw TV tonight for those of us outside of Calgary.

There was some speculation that Getzlaf might have been able to return against Swift Current, so it evidently isnt that serious. I'd expect that he will be back either tonight or Saturday.

Looking forward to seeing Pogge in action as well. Hopefully this deal is the lift that both he and the team needs.

SASKATOON @ CALGARY TONIGHT ON SHAW - Ryan Keller (pictured) and the Saskatoon Blades (24-10-5-4) visit the Calgary Hitmen (19-15-6-2) in one of four Western Hockey League contests Wednesday night.

Tonight's contest between the Blades and Hitmen can be seen throughout the Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta regions on SHAW.

The Blades, who currently top the East division, are coming off Sunday's 6-2 win over Prince Albert and are 3-2 in their last five games. The Blades are an impressive 12-6-3 on the road this season. Keller leads the team with 31 goals this season.

The Hitmen, who are tied with Red Deer for third in the Central division, are coming off Sunday's 3-0 shutout over Swift Current and are 4-5-1 in their last 10 outings. Hitmen rookie Konstantin Pushkarev has tallied five goals and five assists in his last seven outings. Calgary's power play ranks third in the league on home ice.

It's the fourth meeting of the season between the Blades and Hitmen. Saskatoon has a 2-1 edge through the first three encounters.

Tonight’s SHAW broadcast in Manitoba can be seen locally in Brandon on Westman Media and all Westman branches throughout the province, and in Winnipeg on SHAW TV. In Saskatchewan, the game will air locally in Saskatoon, Swift Current, Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Weyburn, Estevan, Yorkton, North Battleford, Meadow Lake, and in Regina on Access Communications. My first hitmen game of the season!

4-3 good guys.

No real analysis from me as I forget all the names. Entertaining game. Hitmen seemed to miss a lot of shots from the slot, but still had 41(yes, 41) shots total, and converted when it counted.

2, Menei, (5) (Green, Bader), 14:35
3, Bader, (10) (Setoguchi, Boldt), 17:57 (PP)

Pushkarev was great #14 was all over the ICE, this kid will have to lead this team. Ladd was useless again tonight.

New guys -
Lucas played good got two points and 2nd star.
Pogge was ok, a small up grade
Yeo was great, all over the ICE, he is an offensive force on the blue line. Fun to watch.

So far I am impressed with the new kids.

1. CGY - 14 Konstantin Pushkarev
2. CGY - 18 Tyrel Lucas
3. SAS - 9 Joe Barnes

Lucas and Yeo were both very good in their debuts. I'll have to reserve judgement on Pogge, as he was not tested often, and the three goals he did give up were all on wild breakdowns by the Hitmen. He did have a very nice save on a 2-0 breakaway though.

Pushkarev is on a massive hot streak right now. I think he has something like 7 goals; 12 points in his last eight games. That said, he seriously needs to learn how to pass the puck. Love his scoring touch, hate how he thinks he needs to do it all on his own.

Reid-Dupont-White: Three great kids, one horrible line. They are all too slow to forecheck effectively. On the road, when our opponents have last change, they are going to take major advantage of that.

Looks like playing for Team Canada didnt pay off for Ladd. He's already back to the usual routine: his only impact on the ice is a stupid penalty.

This team is getting fun to watch.

Yeo looks like he wants to score and is all over the place, needs a line mate that is more D-oriented

A line of Lucas, Pushkarev, Getzlaf would be a hoot to watch with Yeo on the back with Carson. They will be able to put some numbers up. Or put Landolt on the wing to replace Pusharev.

Ladd-Dupont-White would fix this line, give it a chance to put up some numbers too.

Pushkerov looked good. Really good. Nice moves. Easily the best player on both teams.

Green had a VERY nice pass on the Blades last goal
