Are the Hitmen going to get a Goalie?
Are the Hitmen going to give up on this year and trade Andrew Ladd and (or) Ryan Getzlaf?

Should be an interesting trade deadline. Another question will Red Deer trade Dion Phaneuf? I believe the deadline is today at noon.

I'm assuming it will be a slower deadline day. There are just to many teams in the running to win it all. From what I can tell only moose jaw and speedy creek are not going to make it at this point. MJ is 10pts out and SC is 14pts out.
I do think Kisio will acquire Slade from Regina, and he be the tender the Hitmen will ride into the playoffs.
The other really big name that maybe available is Tyler Redenbach from the Broncos.

Not sure, I don't think it is ever really slow in the WHL trade deadline.

HIGHLY unlikely imo. It would take something quite remarkable for Sutter to trade the best junior hockey player in the land. With the Rebels upgrading their goalie position today and, believe me it is an upgrade, they are not giving up on this year. They have the potential to make some noise in the playoffs.
edit: I had heard rumours that the Hitmen were interested in Swift's starter Kyle Moir, an excellent goalie btw. Wonder whether Swift trading their backup to RD changes anything?

I think you're probably right there. Slade hasn't played for a month due to behavioural issues - Kisio can probably get him for a song. Slade's a great tender and could lead a team to a championship if his head is in the right place - that's a big if however...

This one surprises me. On the face of it the Hitmen haven't upgraded their goaltending much. Kyle Moir or even taking a flyer on Dustin Slade might have been a better choice. (Slade is an absolute headcase however). When the Rebels traded for Swift's backup any Moir deal certainly looked like it wasn't going to happen. Slade probably wasn't worth the risk. Still, Pogge's stats don't exactly inspire confidence. After all, Bowles numbers are better. Of course, stats alone don't tell the whole story and perhaps Pogge is the help Calgary needs in goal.
The other parts of the deal are surprising to me too. Perhaps Snakeeye or other Hitmen fans can fill me in on why they think this particular deal was made.

The team got younger and they got a new goalie.
Scott Bowles was known for letting bad goals in. A new goalie may help the confidences of the team.

Perhaps it will help both goalies out as Prince George fans say that Pogge has confidence problems and has let in a number of weak goals too. He was, however, very good last season.

I like the trade for Calgary more for who we got rid of then who we brought back, although I don't know alot about those guys so I certainly reserve judgment to this point. Most importantly though, Bowles is a sieve in net and Rogers didn't play up to expectations at all this year, imo, so I'm glad both are gone. Zalasky I liked, but hopefully the "replacement" will at least bring as much offense and we won't suffer in that department.
Sad to see the deadline come and go and Ladd is still on the team though. He has played with zero heart to this point in the season and based on all the expectations, he needs to gear it up a notch in the second half of the year if the Hitmen are to have much chance of significant improvement.

I like the deal for the Hitmen except for giving up Rogers. Pogge is an ok tender, and the main thing is that everyone within the organization knew they were not going anywhere with Bowles. However, the Hurricanes picked up Redenbach from speedy creek which gives them even more scoring.

He missed most of the year with an injury. And from listening to him on the radio it sounds like he had that same injury for the past two years. And he's only recently just come back from the injury.
I don't really think you can say he didn't play up to expectations when he's been injured the majority of the year. One has to question whether he's been at 100% for any part of it.
I do agree on Bowles though, not a fan. Hopefully Pogge is an upgrade.
