Default Awesome new dream technology

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencete...ch-screen.html

Quote:
Have you been dreaming of a white Christmas? Scientists may soon be able to show your winter scene on a computer screen once you've drifted into a peaceful slumber.

A Japanese research team has successfully processed and displayed images directly from the human brain, they said in a study to be published in the US magazine Neuron.
What if the wife finds out what you've been dreaming about?

That's cool and all, but also somewhat scary at the same time.

Would these images be admissible in court?

I've been having some weird dreams lately. It would be interesting to see if how I remember them corresponds to what they were like when I actually dreamed them.

Weirdest part for me is that I frequently dream of this new dream technology. So really they stole the idea from my dreams and just copied the images.

I have always thought about this. If you could somehow go to sleep hooked up to a computer and then rewatch your dreams the next day. That would be pretty neat, but could also be extremely freaky.

What if someone hacked into your comp while you're dreaming? For some of us, that could be really bad... though possibly a good show on the other end...

I can imagine how if this technology was in everyday homes... I see A LOT more divorce papers being filed.

why should your wife be mad about a dream? so what if it involves "dirty" things? its not like we have control over the matter (i wish!).

any spouse who would really have a problem over this is a nutbar and not mature enough to be in a marriage.

I've heard people who claim they have had "lucid" dreams. They realize they are in a dream and it gives them some control.

But as far as I know, they could just be dreaming they are in control of their dream.

even in that case ... id say so what ... its just a dream, we are all entitled to use our internal imagination at our own free will.

She can just go and dream about George Clooney or some other hot throb.

Why should the guys have all the fun?

Yeah but what if she doesnt... then I am an ...

I would rather just not know, and have no one know mine.

I guess if they could just make you remember what it was you dreamed that would be cool... but I dont want anyone else watching it...

I can't see porn producers liking people having the ability to upload and download dreams from the internets....

Edit: nor the girls who "star" in them...

While this is an interesting technology that might have some application for theraputic and research purposes, what I want to know is if they can reverse it.

If they can pull images from a sleeping brain, how hard can it be to reverse the process and input electrical signals from a camera into our visual cortex?

Blindness thy days are numbered.
