Hey, where are all the goodies?
Well, I work in one of those offices where we usually have suppliers sending us 2 or 3 giftbaskets or boxes of choclates per day during Xmas. So far this year, all I've seen is a nut tray and a box of cookies. Should I suspect the new receptionist of intercepting and stealing everything, or is this just another sign of the slowing economy?

same with our office. We've had 2-3 baskets of goodies, but usually get 10-20 huge ones. It's the economy!!

Could be worse. You could work for a gift basket company.

I blame it on the recession.

What burns me is that we just spent over $100K treating all of our "business partners" to hookers and blow. The least they could do is send us a lousey box of Pot of Gold chocolates as a sign of thanks.

I'm actually quite happy about it, because we usually have way too much chocolate and all put on weight. This year my whole office won't get fat.

I work in IT so we never get any goodies anyway so I haven't noticed. So is everyone still having a Christmas party, I've heard from a few people that theirs was either canceled or scaled back.

No goodies = no temptation. Its just about perfect.
But yes, there is an obvious shortage of gift baskets this year.

So far so good here. Plenty of gift baskets and even one is taking us out for a free lunch. But the suppliers we work with are in the tourism industry so they are trying even harder to get our business

We got nothing until this morning. Our building bought all their tenants a box of Christmas oranges. I strongly dislike oranges.

You think they wouldn't rather punch them in the nuts? The litigation risk was too high.
