As far as I know it looks that way but that seems almost too good to be true

Just noticed this part...
The Bank of Nova Scotia, its subsidiaries and affiliates and respective officers, directors, employees and assigns, accepts no
responsibility, in whole or in part, for any loss, damage or injury to any person(s) or to property, however caused, connected
with or arising from the use of this coupon.
We are one pathetic society.

I think Ill pay to keep my skates out of some 16yr old butchers hands thank you very much. Unless unlike me someone has had a good skate sharpening from them and could tell me what location to go to.

From personal experience in working at a Sport Chek a number of years ago, that is the last place I would take my skates to be sharpened.
But if you know of a good one, go nuts.

From my personal experience working for Sportchek, you had to be certified to use the skate sharpen machine, unless there was no alternative.
I had used the Calgary Royals (AJHL) machine for 2-3 years while my dad worked for them before working at Sportchek, and they perfered that I didn't sharpen due to not having the certificate.
It may not be the best in the city, but there's a good chance someone has actually taken a course, not sure how indepth, to use the machine.

Not a single "thanks" (I mean the button, not written... it does nothing for me)
Just joking
I have a feeling though that they will pull this somehow as it really seems too good to be true

You've got three thanks, from what I can see, but I give them away like candy so I'll add mine as well.

Ditto. Brutal job. I was sliding and falling down. My regular sharpening guy said "why did you let some grind off all of your edge?"
I am fussy about my hockey skates.....the guy who does mine does Christy Yamaguchi's. He puts on this head gear with magnifying glasses, pulls out complex looking measuring devices, and performs surgery on them. He takes forever (leave them overnight), but they come back like razor blades with a 3/8 hollow.

Well maybe things have changed, it has been a few years for sure.
When I was working there, they let pretty much anyone jump on that machine if they were interested in it. If it was a busy Saturday and the tech guys were working on ski tune ups, they would throw pretty much any sucker on that machine to help get rid of the lineup.
Regardless, I am staying away from that place when it comes to sharpening my skates. If it works for others, great.
