Default Rise Against, Dec 2nd.

Tickets go on pre-sale tomorrow. Anyone know the x-army code? It's not on the website and the wife is frantic.

Saw them two years ago at Virgin Fest Vancouver. Great live act, and truly show there emotions. I agree with a lot of their leftist lyrics, not all of them.

WTF is your deal woman? I made it explicitly clear that wives get to have the handle of "Husband's Name's Wife."

See Buzzard and Buzzard's Wife.

Get with the program..

In other news, I'm also going to this concert, thanks for the X-Army code, that was clutch.

Saw them play with Swingin Utters (at a NOFX concert ) at UofC 5 or 6 years ago. RA was the best act, followed closely by the Utters. Need I say who sucked the most....

That is great concert, the utters are awesome. I like all three of those bands, not sure why you're embarrassed about nofx.

Anyways I saw Rise Against around the same time but they were with The Mad Caddies and The Real McKenzies (playing tonight at the distillery), also an awesome show. Rise Against was probably my favourite band from about 2001 - 2005. Siren song of the counter culture came out and it just didn't do it for me.

The first two albums are still 2 of my all time favourite albums. I don't think their first album left my cd player for about a year and a half..

Nice to see them doing well though I suppose. They've put in a lot of time in bands that made no money (88 fingers louie, the killing tree). 88 Fingers louie was an awesome band, and I think originally the majority of Rise Against was from 88 fingers louie (maybe half) now I think only the base player is left.

Anyways will be a good show.

I have never seen anyone put on a worse than NOFX. Even if I put my mind in the context of liking them (hard for me to do), it was just bad. Lazy Something-Holes is what comes to mind. They just emanate that aura of Im better than you and your crap town.

Just saw Rise Against for the third time last weekend in Toronto. It was a great show, I wish I could make the Calgary show, but it is a couple weeks too early this year.

And they didn't even need a fan petition to have it mixed again!!!!

Why is it that on a first listen some tend to not like new music, but then with repeated listens it gets better?

For me it depends on mindset.. I was looking for some angry at my dad but punch my brother music when I first bought it. Its a little tamer than there other stuff but lyrically I think its one of their better albums. After a couple listens and a fight with my girlfriend suddenly it sounds a lot better..
