January 16th, 2010 might be a good time to get the hell out of Brooks Alberta. I'm not sure there should be an open flame anywhere near whatever makes that town smell the way it does.

That's crazy! 45,000km and they'll be all the way in the Northern part of Canada during the winter! Unbelievable. I really like the idea though that they will cover the perimter of the entire country!

I dunno, it seems like they are showing off and/or trying to make sure they are better than the 1988 torch run more than anything else.

I think it's great and we as a nation don't toot our own horns enough because this a great, diverse nation. The diversity of cities they're going to (Alert, Vancouver, Halifax, Quebec, Montreal, etc.) is quite rich. Another reason may be that they're concerned over security of the torch from this year's Olympics but that probably had more to do with China than anything else.

Of course - didn't you know everyone hates Calgary? Just ask Nik Lewis and the rest of the Stamps.

Isn't the torch supposed to come from italy, where it was for the last Winter Olympics?

Really? I didn't get that impression at all. Seems like more of a celebration of Canada to me. I don't even want the Olympics in Canada for 2010 but I still think the torch run is kinda cool.

That's the goal of every Olympic organization committee. To improve or be better, then the last.

The route will be shortened once they realize they are over budget by billions

Perhaps that's how they'll deal with the homeless problem - give them the torch and tell them to run to Baffin Island.

That's how you plan a parade route. Give a three year old a yellow crayon and tell them to draw Canada. Then, overlap that picture on top of Canada, and volia! Kudoes Vancouver Olympic Planners!
