My wife has been watching some show on the Food Channel where they are in a cake decorating competition. The cakes have to follow some theme picked for that particular competition and usually have to be at least 3 feet tall. The get like 8 hours to make the cake and at the end they have to successfully move the cake from the baking table to the display table. Pretty interesting to see the cakes that people come up with.
I think the show is called Food Challenge or something like that. I also saw one where they had to do a city skyline using cereal.
I worked at a place that shared the building with a bakery, and if I worked the early saturday morning shift, I would go visit the cake decorator. It was quite neat to watch her decorate cakes as she would come up with some interesting designs for special requests and it was really cool to see how she made it all work out. Nothing as elaborate as what Photon shows or what that I've seen on the TV show, but cake decorating is quite an art in its own.
