Thumbs down Bike Stolen

Whoever stole my beloved yellow Gary Fisher Mountain Bike.... words cannot describe how angry I am at you. It wasn't an expensive bike, but it was my bike. My means of getting to work and keeping in shape. It had character: a dinosaur bell (that I had from when I was a kid) a swedish flag, Flames sticker, X92.9 sticker....

Not sure why I had to post this here, but I thought I would share my anger with you guys.

This is why you need to install automated turret defense systems on every corner of your property... err wait..sorry just had a flashback from Starcraft playing days.

That sucks man.

I had my brand new bike stolen too. They must've put a lot of effort into it, because I found my lock about a week later, it was broken.

Anyone who steals a bike should be shot at sunrise.

I had one of my bikes stolen this summer from my cabin. Not a big deal since I bought it with my impressive haggling skills (from $10 down to $5, I'm like Donald Trump) at a garage sale, but it still pissed me off. Hopefully he got a nice surprise when he learned that it didn't have brakes.

Everything happens for a reason man. Maybe Monday you ride to work and get hit by a bus...it sucks but that's the world now.

Sorry, I thought it was a kid's bike when I took it...

I wish slow, painful death to bike thieves. They are scum.

I used to ride my bike all the time growing up. One day I left it in the front and went in to go pee, only to find it stolen upon returning. I was 9.

I still remember how upset I was to this day. I never liked a bike as much as that one.

Feel for you, it sucks when someone takes your bike from you.

As kids, my brother and I used to periodically have our bikes stolen. We'd just walk a couple of blocks over to the neighborhood moron's house and it would be right there, laying on the front lawn.

I've had 2 bikes stolen from me. With the second one, I was at work (at a mall) and the idiot left it in the loading dock, so I got that one back

Hopefully yours turns up.

Reminded me of this thread when my girlfriend's bike got stolen.
http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthr...ht=stolen+bike

Actually a search reveals a lot of threads on CP about stolen bikes.

+1 to all movements for slow painful deaths for bike thieves.

Reminds me of this.

And this.

But totally feel for you. Back in April some jackass broke into the underground parking garage in my building. They cut through TWO security gates to get to the bottom level, cut a door into the chain link fence around the bike lockup, then cut through the lock on my bike. All to get my $200 Canadian Tire Raleigh.

What made me feel better was getting a much better, shinier, sexier bike. Although I suspect it's only a matter of time until that one goes too.

Now that is a lot of work for a bike. Seems beyond just mere kids looking for a joyride.

Anyways, in Vancouver bike theft is a massive massive problem. I am fairly tolerant to the homeless, but nothing infuriates me more than Junkie who steals a $500 bike so he can sell it at the pawn shop for $40.

That sucks. I had a locked up bike stolen about 4 years ago. It wasn't expensive, but I loved it. Still get mad when I think about it.

I had a bike stolen when I was about 12 years old. My mom gave me a ride to school that day, and on our way there we drove past a bible college and there it was, my bike was sticking out of a dumpster.

Why would someone steal a bike, then throw it in the dumpster the same day? They obviously didn't want it that bad...

Haha. That happened to me when I was a kid. My bike got stolen and a few days later I was walking to my piano lesson , and along the way, I saw my bike laying on someone's lawn. Me and my buddy egged that house relentlessly over the next few weeks until my stepmom noticed that alot of eggs were going missing and questioned me about it.

When I was 12 or 13, my bike was stolen from an arcade in my neighborhood. A few days later, I heard through the grapevine that one of the local scumbag kids was trying to sell a bike and that it was stolen. I went to the arcade and there was the guy. I said I was interested in buying the bike and he says "Ok, but you should know, it's hot". "No problem", I says. " I don't have the money on me and I have to go home right now, can you bring the bike to my house later today?" "Yup" he says. Dumbass. I went home and called the cops and explained what was going on and asked if they could send someone, which they did. Talked to the cop for a while, then the guy shows up with the bike. I walk out of the house and see that it's my bike, so I signal to the cop inside the house and he walks out. You should have seen the colour drain from dude's face. It was priceless. Needless to say, I got my bike back and dude got a court date.

Wow, that's some good work for a 12 year old. I know I wouldn't have been that clever, nor would I have had the balls to pull it off.
