Default Request: Embed Youtube/Video Button

Calgarypuck currently has the embed images button which is very useful but more and more youtube posts are being posted in lieu of images. Other websites such as www.hfboards.com actually have an embed Youtube button as well as support for some other hockey related websites such as the videos from NHL.com

I think Youtube should suffice. I believe I requested this a long time ago and Photon said it might be implemented. Any reason why we can't have this instead of typing (with square brackets of course) (youtube)CTRL-V(/youtube) all the time? It would make things a lot easier for new folks and people who have trouble embedding as well (judging by all the embed tests in this and the help forum).

I checked and I can easily add buttons to the advanced editor, so I added ones for youtube and NHL videos, though they just insert the proper tags for you you still have to copy/paste the identifier.

Thanks Photon. The only issue I can see is I think most people reply to threads via the quick reply box and the Youtube icon does not appear in the quick reply box as the embed image button does.

Yeah, to change that though I think I have to dig deep into the templates, and I'm scared of the minotaurs that live there.

I tried embedding a NHL video with the button and it didn't work. Anybody got any suggestions?

You have to give it a number like the youtube embedding, you're just trying to embed the link to the entire video center website.

When the video is playing if you click share and then link it'll give you this link:

http://video.flames.nhl.com/videocen...d=11&id=132221

The 132221 is what you want.
