Facepaint got ejected from Last night's game
The user on here Facepaint and his friends got tossed last night for apparently being too drunk and rowdy. Those who know them know that they're that rowdy from the drop of the puck to the end of the game, regardless of how many they've had.
It's obvious why the dome has been to quiet this season. Anybody who actually cheers and gets other fans into the game gets tossed..... Really poor customer relations from the Flames organization on this one.
Most of the people in the section complained to the ushers and security after the ejection. Just letting you guys know that we all had your back on that one. You guys should definitely get a refund for that.

^ Section 218, they are near the top on the edge of 217.
I have been sitting directly in front (12 rows?) of Facepaint and his crew for YEARS now and I have NEVER seen him so rowdy he should be kicked out.
They are what make 218 such a good section. When they are not there it is soo quiet it is pathetic!
What time were they kicked out!? Was there any one thing that put it over the top? Someone must have complained about something?
(I couldn't make the game last night so missed it)
Claeren.

I know that at CP it is a rule that we have to come down hard on people who had fun and may have had a drink while doing so but wasn't the whole point of the first post (and now subsequent post from Claeren) that they weren't being drunk and obnoxious and that the ejection was uncalled for?

They got kicked out at the beginning of the 2nd intermission. They weren't being over the top at all. They seemed just as confused as the rest of us were for why they got tossed.
I think someone just complained because they were being loud as per usual

you don't get kicked out because people complain. there has to be actual witnessed events. something must have happened.

At the Wings at Panthers game people were told by some official with a clipboard not to bang on the glass, lean on the glass, or climb up to get the puck that was stuck in the netting. I'd never seen that before. Is this happening by you at all? Is this some kind of new trend? And the guy was generally discouraging rowdiness it was very weird.

Yeah I know...it's just this guy was a general killjoy it's not like someone was hurting the glass. Wonder why they got kicked out up there!!! Just wondering too if the latest promotional tactic is to turn arenas into libraries or something I mean it's a hockey game. Jeez.

Sitting in 219, I'm rather jealous of the noise I hear coming from 219. Keep it up!
I'm surrounded by retired people ahead of me and typically opposition fans behind me from walk up ticket sales. The old guy next to me puts on his headphones to listen to peter maher and doesn't even get up to cheer goals. Might as well watch TV at home.

I agree. Virtually every instance of getting kicked out of a sporting event I've seen involves:
A) a potential fight or a threat of some kind;
B) Harassing another patron; or
C) Excessive swearing at a loud volume (there are kids at the game).

I would suggest maybe emailing Ken King a link to this thread.

Why? We still haven't estabilished what actually went on. We have a poster here who knows why they were thrown out "apparently" and nothing else to go on.
Unless Facepaint himself posts and let's us know what went down, then what is Ken King going to do about this thread?

ALL ABOARD!

I was with FacePaint at the game and we were definitely confused as to why we were ejected. We didn't do anything out of the ordinary. Aside from cheering loud and attempting to start a few chants it was par for the course.
Also, we were never given a reason for being ejected or given any warning. The security guards wouldn't tell us what happened. If their were complaints from other fans we didn't hear them.
We already sent a letter to Ken King. I'm sure nothing will result from it but since we've been season ticket holders since 1998 we felt it was necessary to raise the issue.

Banging on the glass during play is terrible and should be discouraged with both prejudice and truncheons.
Shouting and screaming, even obnoxious hooting and hollering a la the crowd at an Aresenio Hall taping, is good. Maybe a little annoying to some people, but it's a sporting event.
Just don't bang on the glass. I hate that.

Is that the section that always does the "iggy iggy iggy" "oy oy oy" chant? Because the last game I went to, Colorado, where we won 4-1, I never heard that chant, I was sad I never heard it once. We never even did the wave at that game. I think it is awesome what they are doing, chanting, etc. I think it is awesome when a group of guys start chanting "Budaj sucks", and "Smyth is a diver", kind of stuff. I want to go to a Sharks game so I can, personally, start the "Ricci's ugly" chant, because he does still work for them, just in upper management.
Good for you guys, sucks you got ejected.

I have season tickets one row up and to the right of those guys, and they are loud every game, and they have different chants they carry out each game. They're awesome to have at the games. I wasn't at this game, but if they were the way they usually are and got kicked out, then that's BS. But it really wouldn't be past the Saddledome staff to kick someone out for being too loud.
The Dome is pathetic this year (and gets worse each year since the lockout), and the higher ups would much rather have a bunch of quiet suits watching the game, then passionate fans constantly cheering on the home team.
Hopefully facepaint will come on and give some more info as to what happened.....and to teh guy who said there's no way they were just being loud and got kicked out..think again. Those idiots listen to any fan who thinks people are being too loud, and act on it every time. It's stupid.

Yes among others
In the off days, it was the only upper section sold out. Our usher got praised for having the 'party section'.
It's the heart of the Dome, and we know the kiddies there too and usually tone it down when they are around.
Only think is, after 6 years, they aren't kiddies anymore.
We had the 'Sutters (Hay's whomever the coach was at the time) Army chant, whenever we'd lose. Everyone would crack up when we got to the part about 'And we'll really shake it up, when we win the Stanley Cup!' Esp in 2001
People stopped laughing in 2004 and just did the sheep thing...
YOU ARE WELCOME!
WE WERE RED MILE!!!
