hmm, the relationship thing may have gone too far... usually, someone just writes something very graphic in my status when i leave mine up, which is, to me, a 1ish. the relationship issue is probably an 6 or 7, I would think.

I've never understood facebook, if you want to get a hold of me you have my number and if you don't I probably don't want to talk to you anyways. So what I'm saying is it would be a 1 who cares.

2.
Akin to having the 2nd beer out of a fresh 12 pack at the start of a Flames game without asking - if its not a friend its a total dick move, if it is a friend its an act of endearment.

Pretty lame. Even if it happened before, how did the other people react? The relationship thing could be causing issues with his GF, hence why he's pissed

#1 reason why facebook is evil.... this thread.
Some people take facebook really seriously... their prime contact with others they know. Change that without their consent and you can see why it makes them mad. It's because of these serious people why I left it.

If that is in fact the case...Id say his girlfriend should take a chill pill. "My friend changed it as a joke" should be a fine explaination.

If a couple can't survive a prank featuring changing the description of the relationship, it wasn't much of one to begin with.
Certainly not the top of a chart with "replacing her birth control pills" or "leaving behind random female undergarments".

My friend and I both used to play The Wrestler app on facebook, and were members of the same stable. One day he left his computer with facebook logged on so I made a bunch of posts on his behalf. You know, the good ol' immature comments. He thought it was funny, I thought it was funny and the other fellers in our stable thought it was funny.
The thing about practical jokes, is you really have to know the person to know if they would like the joke you're playing on them. I have a co-worker who doesn't like certain practical jokes to be played on him... I haven't figured out which jokes he would blow a gasket over so I dont' bother with him. Unfortunately he thinks I hate him because I prank others instead of him. His fault, he's a jerk and unpredictable. I'm not going to risk him getting pissed off at me. (He is open to any pranks on April Fool's day though).

I would find it great if a relationship status was changed, just to watch the ensuing dramatic wall-posting meltdown that seems to be the subsequent result. And it's funny too when people take their relationship status so seriously...It's freakin' FACEBOOK! If you're married or engaged or whatever, shouldn't a ring or a keepsake be more of a statement?
I say you did the absolute right thing. Anyone who doesn't log off deserves to have their account pranked. When I used to go to internet cafes before I got a good machine myself, I would always find people's MSN Messenger or ICQ logged in, and engage in chats with random people. It was great - damn fine entertainment.

Actually they live together, and it's a she, it's my friends GF who is also my friend. I think a couple people called them wondering what happened to their relationship. My bad, but I'm glad to see I'm not as much of an arse as I've been told I am today.

People take that site waaaaay too seriously. I once changed my status to "[NAME] is expecting..."... and people actually thought I was having a baby. Me, personally, having a baby. Like, people that I know thought that me, a male, was having a baby.
Facebook is only fun for two ways now: #1) To see your friend's pictures that live abroad, and #2) to mock everything and everybody else on that site. Well, the people who deserved to be mocked, anyways.

This all reminds me of the time when I, on Facebook, called it quits in my open relationship with Oprah W. - someone wrote on my wall, "Glad to see you ended it with the racist!"
That person and I are no longer "friends".
