Default Decent US Political Blogs -- biased but not too much

I'm wondering what other news junkies use for their US political information.

I like to get information from both sides of the spectrum, so I scan both left- leaning and right-leaning blogs.

The ones I avoid like the plague are the ones that are so biased on way to be blind to the truth... a good example on the right would be Rush Limbaugh, or some of the Fox News sites.

My main right-leaning blog is Drudge, who is quite right leaning but also fair most of the time. For my left-leaning blog I have been using the Huffington Post, but I need an alternative because its getting to be like Limbaugh for the left, an unacceptable ignorance to opposing views.

Any suggestions?

American Right
Drudge isn't a blog but a news source with a Conservative bend. It is a good place to find blogs on either side. Just scroll down to the name log and click away till you find something you like. Andrew Sullivan?

Canada

Bourque.org is a great place to follow Canadian news has links to most major newspapers and mags

Left
Terry Glavin is great.

Right
Damian Penny is good.

Also, politico.com has perspectives from both sides. I think the nature of blogs is that they're pretty biased--you just have to be willing to look for confirmation of things from multiple sources before believing them, because often things posted on political blogs (from both sides) are complete B.S.

One easy thing to do is to go to factcheck.org or politifact.com, two nonpartisan factcheckers that do a very good, evenhanded job.

Yeah, Huffington Post is actually pretty balanced compared to DailyKos--who have repeatedly posted things that are not only inflammatory but also untrue about both McCain and Palin. I don't mind the Huffington Post, but you do have to mentally adjust for their slantedness, just as you do with Drudge.

Matt Drudge has actually said in the past that he is more liberal than most people think.

Andrew Breitbart used to help him with the Drudge Report, and when he left to start Breitbart news, Drudge made a deal to hotlink the majority of his news from his site. Thats why so many links on Drudge are from Breitbart. Which, IMO is pretty conservative.

Best blog IMO?
