Default Injured my neck at work

So I just got injured at work this morning, basically I cant move my neck. I went to the clinic and we filled out all the WCB papers however I am a contract worker with the company, and am not sure how all of this works.

Anyone know what to expect or if I am entitled to anything or nothing, I'm just not sure what happens now..

Also, as a side note, anyone have any great medication for major neck strains? The doctor said Robax Platinum but its not doing anything for me, and now I'm stuck in bed and can't lift my neck up..

Mersondyl -- Over the counter. I have taken it for anything from headaches to when I break my bones (happens often, dont ask) I find it 10x better then T3's. Its also a fantastic muscle relaxant.

Did you see a doc? If you really can't lift it up I'd recommend seeing a doc ASAP...

Go see your GP and get lined up to see the WCB doctors.. How'd you manage to hurt it? Pole dancing related mishaps are always tragic

Yes, I saw a doctor. I was told to give it 3-4 days and if the mobility doesnt increase and the pain doesn't go away then I need to come back and they can re-assess me from there.. sounded a bit odd.

I was cleaning up the art supplies after teaching an art class and I lifted a bin above my head, it sort of slipped and I moved my head quickly to the left to save it from hitting me.. turns out I only hurt myself more than I would have if I had just let the damn thing give me a shiner.

Now I can not and will not comment specifically on any claims or anything but I'll list the big things that jump out at me. You were a) performing regular duties required of you for your work. and b) you called yourself a 'contract worker'

a) As long as you are fulfilling your regular duties, you will be covered for a WCB claim as long as the industry that you work in requires mandatory coverage under the WCB Act or if your employer has a WCB Account. Let us presume that conditions of (a) is true but it depends on your employer or who hired you.

b) Contract worker - The WCB does not use this term in the exact same was as CRA does, my question to you would be how you are paid. (If you operate through a legal entity (Ltd. Inc.or Corp.) or if you mean that you are a Contract worker as in fixed term but paid through a T4 or possibly employed as: casual labour, piecework etc.

In terms of contract worker, its a fixed term. I teach art classes in the mornings around the city with a small company.

Art class related injuries. The worst kind.

Go get high and watch the Flames. Sort out the WCB stuff when you feel better.

Just so you don't get screwed, if there is a chance of a WCB claim the physicians report, employers report and employees report must be submitted within 72 hrs of the injury. I have experience with WCB from an employers prospective so PM me if you have any questions.

I'm an adjudicator (case manager) at WCB. PM me if you have any specific questions and I can tell you most things you need to know.
