Well I just experienced Turkfest, but not by means of eating turkey but rather having loud Turkish music filtering into my room from a festival two blocks away.
I'm making Coq au Vin for dinner tomorrow night. Just a small family dinner, but it's one of my favorite autumn dishes to make (anything that involves dousing your meal in alcohol and lighting it on fire is good).

Well I brought a bit of Canadiana to the South yesterday as I decided to go all out and celebrate TG even though we get another one in about 6 weeks.
Turkey with all the fixins was enjoyed by a bunch yesterday. I still wanna try one of those deep-fried birds though...everyone raves about how much better they are than a roasted one.
Here, I am off work because it is Columbus Day! Nothing like celebrating the failed mission of a Spanish explorer!
