"MrMastodon Rules!" I am sick and tired of hearing people say this in a thread.

Mike Danton famously said he wouldn't be drinking Lou Lamourillo's Kool-Aid a few years ago.
It references the Jonestown (Johnstown) Massacre of some years ago in Guyana, late 1970's/ early 1980's, I believe, where about 900 people committed mass suicide via Kool-Aid rather than have their cult come under scrutiny. This after a US Senator and a few others had been murdered in a hail of machine gun fire as they set down on a landing strip.
Something like that.

Mmmmm, grape!
Here's a link to the kool-aid suicide in Guyana, creating the use of the term.

I'll have to go with the word "class" or "classy".

Someone on this board constantly uses the word "Cowperson" at the end of each post. I have yet to figure it out, but I will try it here. :P

I second that emotion. "Classlessness" isn't used too often but it falls under the same category.

Thanks for the Kool-aid info. I knew of the cults, but didn't know of the Danton connection or CP usage connection. Another question. How did this whole 'Fata' coming into being and what's the corrolation with the players name. I asked this question before but didn't get a response. Is it because Rico 'always seemed to come back, but was useless when he did'? Something to that effect? Also, how did the dancing spiderman with the Rico head happen?
I totally agree with the whole 'classy' thing. And one word posts p*ss me off too. I could have a much higher post count if I put up one sentance or one word 75% of the time.
Lemme see if I can actually ADD to this thread by thinking of a cliche here that bugs me...
Nope, nope I can't... I think this message board does better for annoying cliches (or lack thereof really), then other message boards.

Enlightenment..
A BRIEF HISTORY OF RICO
So one day Rico Fata was put on waivers, I know I know, why would they do that, that kid had wheels.. Anyways, as the story goes he got picked up by the New York Rangers off of said waivers and someone posted to this fact. However, as days went by, more and more people started posting about Rico Fata being claimed off of waivers. Thus the effect of being fata'd was first used to define someone who was posting information that had already been made aware to the rest of the board population at an earlier time.
The original fata was posted by, if I recall Marc Ciampa, and it was simply a mug shot of the infamous speedster. CrazyJoe aka Anthony Cook then took the liberty to graft the face of Rico Fata onto a dancing Spiderman gif that was floating around the internet, this became the new way to Fata.
Since that time there was a period of disgrace where the Fata was being over-used as some might say, it was the beginning of the Fata wars with the likes of Jordan (aka SuperNilson) versus the Teen-Groupies (kermitology, hulkrogan, Bring Back Shantz) and for a length of time the Fata went into hiding. That is until the day of reckoning, the day of snowdude.
Snowdude made a post saying he had seen John Davidson make a comment after a Rangers game that the Rangers would be aquiring Roman Turek, I can't remember the exact details of the exchange, however, this started a bit of a riot as Sportsnets own Roger Millions saw this and asked Mr. Davidson what on Earth was going on. Davidson denied it and was furious that his name would be put to such lies.
Now this is a bit of a tangent, but it ties back into Fata as this Turek to the Rangers topic was posted numerous times by many posters who thought they were breaking huge news to the world of Calgarypuck. A call went out for the return of the Fata, and his use has come back into play to a lesser extent since then. He is currently in hosting on kermitology's site and the fear of the fata is now a board norm ie.. "I hope I don't get Fata'd"

Thanks Kermitology. I knew what it all meant, just not the story of how it came to be. Most of that ws before I frequented here with any regularity, but I was a member when, and do remember the, JD fiasco. That was good times! Lol.
