Open option suggestions? MRC
Going into final semester at MRC in Jan, but am registering for classes now. My last semester is basically all options. Any good suggestions?
* Already taken the best class ever (PHED1215 — Leisure Activities)
* Hate anything mathematical (including physics and chemistry)
* No political science.
Can be from any cluster.
Cheers.

Speech 1110 I believe is the number. Make sure it is with Jeff Jewett.
Also, never taken it but computer science intro is extremely easy.

Haha I took that with Jeff, that was a hilarious class. He's kind of a weird dude, but he's a fun teacher nonetheless. I acted out the "steamroller" scene from Strange Brew in his class for one of our assignments. As for Comp Sci, I'm just computer illiterate but I didnt find that class easy at all. The labs were the most boring thing ever, and the test was extremely technical. Not to mention that if I could choose any class, I wouldn't pick one with 3 hours of lectures a week PLUS a lab.
btw is PHED the off-campus gym class? Because if not, take that one(dont remember what its called). It's wicked dude. We went curling, golfing, even shot pool one time. My favourite class I ever took at MRC.

Yep. We did inner-tube waterpolo, laser tag, soccer, basketball... you name it... it was wicked. Couldn't believe I got credit for it.
Is it the Public Speaking class? SPCH 2001 has one with that guy.
There are actually 2:
SPCH 2007
SPCH 2001
Both have Jeff as a teacher/

Ya its public speaking. You could try it. That one may be a 200-level class though, which may make it more in-depth than the 1110 one. That was four years ago I took it, I can't remember the number at all.

Uh oh. I signed up for ASTR2201 as I need a cluster 5 (math, physics and sciences) and picked this one because it seemed to be the most mathless of them all... however, I've caught wind that this specific class does include a large portion of math. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
Any other cluster 5 classes that don't include math? I'm probably the worst person in the world at any type of math...

I was a fan of Anthropology. Not the Monkeys one but the cultural anthro one, ANTH 1103 I believe. My instructor (2 years ago) just had graduated from UC-Berkeley and was really good, knowledgeable and passionate. The class wasn't totally wasy, but I never really had to work hard to get my A, plus I felt like i was learning.
