Don't use 84th street between Glenmore & 17th ave SE
Dump truck collided with 2 pick ups right in front of my work. Me and another guy pulled the dump truck drive out. Everyone seems to be OK, but 84th will be closed. Avoid the area.

Never a smart idea to go that way when traffic is "flowing" anyway

i'm pretty sure the road is still closed. there are a couple tow trucks there and bobcat and fire and police parked in my lot. i'll let you know when all those are gone. Don't think they should be too much longer. I'm sure things should be cleared up for the afternoon rush.

The road is all cleared up now.
Madman are you some kind of dispatcher or something? I think you have been in a lot of threads that have to do with road closures or other incidents.

That road is a nasty traffic mess at the best of times. Best to avoid it whenever possible. Specifically the intersection at 17th ave and the intersection at Glenmore. Both very painful at rush hour. I think the 17th ave/84th intersection wins for most frustrating and intolerably slow currently.

Bump...
Guess what? The road is closed again. And this time I think it's a major accident. I could hear STARS flying overhead. It's closer to Glenmore this time, a k or two south of me so I don't know exactly what's up, but traffic is backed up forever, so avoid the area.

Is 22X still closed?
I got an alert that 22x was closed, but they didn't specify where.
Could people be diverting to Glenmore/84th to get around that issue?

They closed 22x completely..... I usually go that way in the mornings, as i work in Strathmore on mondays. However, i was staying downtown last night and went out highway 1 instead.

When did they close 22x? I used it this morning from 24th street SW to 88th street SE at 6:20am or so.

A serious crash shut down a major highway Monday morning.
Highway 22X, or Marquis of Lorne Trail, was closed during the rush hour after a crash involving two vehicles.
The crash happened at around 7 a.m. at the highway's intersection with 88 Street S.E.

This had more info than the alert I received.

Well this section of the road is open again. At least what I can see.
Anyone use this site:
http://www.calgarytraffic.com/index.php
I'm thinking it may be useful, especially in the winter.
