Canadian French Language debate
Thought that I would start this thread after watching the first hour of what is an unwatchable debate.
This is more of a bar brawl with leaders shouting over each other to be heard. Elizabeth May acting like a complete bozo, Dion and Layton bringing up hidden agenda's and Harper smirking like this is the biggest joke ever.
I guess there is no civility in politics anymore.

The circus is alive and well I see. Seems like Harper's just being the most realistic and recognizing it for what it really is.
But the real question about Harper, is how much will he tolerate, before unleashing his Dark Sith lord powers again?

Did Harper have the same smug look that he has in those new commercials? The guy looks creepy...

I almost wish he would.

It just annoys me first and foremost that Duceppe and the block are allowed to participate in a national party election, and May has done nothing but waste time and shriek like a banshee.
Personally, I think Harper has come across as the most composed and leader like of all of the leaders.

Oh, god, that is absolutely horrid to listen to.... particularly Elizabeth May. She fought tooth and nail to get into these debates despite not being able to speak French?
Layton is speaking one word at a time. My guess is that he's thinking in English and translating because he has to keep looking for his next word and the pauses are terrible.
Interesting the Duceppe and Dion are constantly nodding at each others points.... dunno what that's all about.
Interesting that those that vote only Conservative think that Harper is the only one being realistic and composed. Imagine that.

The only other one thats been close to composed is Layton who I think has done a credible job in this debate and will probably see a surge in support against the Liberals. I think that Dion has been terrible again, and he doesn't look composed, May has been brutal, Duceppe has been good, but his job is easy. Harper has come across as the most reasonable in this debate.

I dunno. There is no pleasing some people.
Dion has been forceful in his attacks and has defended his points well. He is going a bit overboard and almost yelling at times.
But on the flip side, when he is calm and composed people are calling him wimpy and indecisive.
The man can't win.

Wow Duceppe is bold, Quebec should be allowed to opt out of the Canadian Health System, but Canada should still compensate them.

Harper is a cat lover. A cat with a Cheshire grin would have perhaps been more appropriate.

The style of the debate is unwatchable. End of story.
EDIT: New found comical value. Making the leader of the Green Party say something nice to Stephen Harper is awesome. Silly idea, but awesome. She rambled on about how he's a good father and has nice kids.

I have an honest question that is totally unrelated to politics. Is Harper wearing a hair piece. I've seen him outside at events where it is windy and his fuddy-duddy hair do doesn't move.
If so, what a dufus. Be a man like Layton and embrace your baldness.

You clearly missed out on the 80s, or you would know that with sufficient hairspray, hair becomes functionally equivalent to cast iron.
I knew girls who used enough hairspray that their heads would stay six inches off the pillow when you went to bed with them. Sexy!

global showed a few clips from it on their news and couldn't even be bothered to put in subtitles.
they just explained what was said (and surely placed their bias on it as well) and then showed the clip of them talking in french before explaining their next snippet which also didn't include subtitles.
