"We begin in the Attack Ad from the Liberals....."

Nice opinion piece... Better when listened to, unfortunately!

He's dead on in his conclusion.

One Conservative party member made a joke in poor taste.

The Liberal Party is walking on caskets to try and turn a tragedy into political points.

It totally surprised me too.. He's usually a Conservative basher from the times that I've heard him on the radio.

Thats the one thing thats always bugged me about the Liberals is the whole hidden agenda fear mongering routine, in the words of PT Barnum and Bailey, its designed for the rubes.

I still remember in the last election, the Liberals ran on a lack of substance campaign, they used the hidden agenda card, then they never disclosed any kind of platform, always pointing to the fact that they had this plan, but they never revealed it. This campaign hasn't really changed it that much. Using the terms neocon, talking about Harper in the same breath as Bush, then changing their primary platform, the green shift every day, building budget figures based on calculations created 7 months ago, and not making a stand for anything.

I wouldn't mind the Liberals, except that I've never been able to trust them, and their elusiveness in every campaign doesn't give me a comfort factor that they're trustworthy.

In fact the last time I voted for a Liberal was after Kim Campbell took over the Conservatives and refused to fight that election on the issues.

Charles Adler is a huge Tory booster, nothing surprising in that piece at all....

The real story is the complete and utter incompetence of the Tory Cabinet, first Bernier now this clown.....his previous experience was as the owner of a community newspaper and ostrich farmer.....great....what has he even done to try to quell the listerios outbreak?

Has Harper released a platform? Does he have any issues he is fighting on, other than "not worth the risk"?

This deserves a posting of one of my favourite movie speeches of all-time.

Not yet, but we're not even into the heart of the election yet. In the last election, the Liberals didn't really even have a platform by the time the debates rolled around except for the whole, plan.

No kidding. The Conservative campaign has been nothing but hidden agenda and other party bashing.
Sad reality is that all parties do this, and the conservative lemmings who don't want to admit it need to take a closer look at the CPC campaign.

Rofl. Winsor trots out the "hidden agenda" card like a good little Liberal then proceeds to talk about "conservative lemmings".

I'm with the author on this one. Universal Health Care is an absolute failure and I would want the Conservatives to give us U.S. style health care right now. Is this supposed to be in green?

I wonder if you'd feel differently if it was a Liberal MP who "made a joke in poor taste"?

I wish Canadian elections didn't sink to the same low as the american's with their smear campaigns but they do. The conservatives are playing the same game so it's not surprising that the Liberals are going to respond in kind.

Honestly though, the only things I've heard from the Harper camp are "Not worth the risk" and "more money for the average Canadian family"...funny he hasn't stated how he's going to get that done.

The Liberals keep trotting out the "hidden agenda" because the comments keep rolling out from CPC candidates and ministers. I'm not condoning it, but honestly that is why you keep seeing this over and over. (I personally find it tedious and tiresome).

I do think its hilarious that Harper has not issued a platform at all, yet the idea that he is the safe choice in troubled times seems to resonate. Its frankly amazing that having no idea what the guy is going to do is more comforting than if the other guy wins. It will be interesting to see if his latest environmental announcement costs him some clout in Alberta though.
