Default Shaw Signal Quality

I upgraded to a LCD and HD PVR in my Man room.

In moved the older Big screen and Dig box into my kids play room for them.

However the signal I guess is not strong enough and while the audio is fine, the picture flickers every 5 - 10 seconds or so.

I did some looking and the single co-ax that runs to that area is split three times.

-Play Room
-Spare Bedroom
-Master Bedroom.

Is there some sort of amplifier that will work on the Dig signal to boost performance ?

The analog cable signal is fine as I connected it straight to the TV with no issues.

All cabling is in the walls otherwise I would just run new stuff.

Thoughts ?????

When I had Shaw Home Phone installed a few months ago, the installer asked me if I had any signal issues. Although i had very minor ghosting on one tv on one channel that I didn't ever watch, I told him about it and he installed an amplifier. Didn't cost me anything.

Maybe give them a call and see what they say. I think that my dad had an amplifier installed by shaw for free once too.

Edit: Funny that the box is worse than straight analogue through the wall though. On my digital box, I found that the analogue channels were clearer on the box than if I plugged straight into the wall. I assumed that there was some built-in amplifying that the box did.

Is that typo and supposed to read "Main room", or do you seriously call it your "Man room"?

Just call and get a tech out.

He'll test the strength, and if needed, theyll toss in an amplifier into the line for free.
I've got one and my digital TV wont go on without it lol.

I've got good quality stuff running to my HD box and LCD but the existing is in the walls and I have no easy access to that part of the house with a fully finished basement.

Hopefully an amplifier will do the trick.

The problem could be the cable running from your wall to your unit. I've had problems before and ungraded to RG6 coax cable from RG59 cable.
