I need to start looking for a new job and career soon because I'm just not enjoying retail anymore. I have recently completed my BA from SAIT and have a Marketing Major, so I think I'm actually well suited to any entry level business role with sales or anything would be good. I'm also experienced in management now and have had measureable success so I think my resume's pretty good, but I look on Monster and Workopolis with "marketing" and it comes up with a ton of recruiters and pyramid scheme companies. I don't know where to look. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

If Workopolis were anywhere close to a legitimate site, their radio ads wouldn't be so pathetic.

If I were looking for a job in a particular industry, I'd google the industry and collect the names of the companies in that industry. Then I'd do 2 minutes of research on each company to decide if I'm interested in working for them. Then, with the ones that I'm interested in, I'd cold call and find my way to the HR dept. or to a manager and ask if they're hiring. When they say no, I'd ask if I can submit a resume for future consideration.
That'd be my method, anyway. I guess I just don't believe that good positions are ever posted on the internet or in newspapers. Every good job I've ever had I was either juiced in or else I happened to be in the right place at the right time or else I inadvertantly talked up the right person at the right time.
The only good gigs I've ever seen posted in a paper or on a webiste all seemed too good to be true.
