Keep in mind the store usually doesn't update till around 5 or 6 so don't freak out if it isn't there right away.
edit: don't hold your breath ... the update is up and the demo is not a part of it. Apparently there was a scheduling conflict.

Why such a delay for the Xbox Live demo?
The 2K9 demo is on Xbox live today if anyone is interested.

I downloaded the 2k9 game demo last night, played it for about 2 minutes then turned it off and deleted it.
I see they've never changed the boxy, hunchback look of the players, either.

is that so!? Chances are by the time I get home it'll be up already so i'm not going to worry too much about starting up an account.
Would love to hear some impressions when you get a chance!

Have I mentioned lately how much I hate that the games don't install automatically after download? This is the longest install ever.
Edit: Ok folks, somebody that has played the demo has to help me here! When you have the control set to "always up", it seems to not only switch the up/down directions, but the "left/right" as well, so dekes are completely backwards (to deke left, you push the controller stick right). Does anybody know how to change that?
Beyond that almost everything I've seen is very positive. Be a Pro is going to be very tricky and very fun.

Be A Pro looks awesome. I had some fun playing that as Zetterberg, had a game whewre I had 3 goals and an assist (2 ENG) and I've had games where I can't even hit the net. Can't wait for the full version.

I hate all you 360 people that at least got a demo for last years game before the release date
I'm currently in the western final of my dynasty in 08, and I decided last night that before I get too used to the new control scheme I'd better focus on finishing off 08. Wow. What a huge difference. I was never really on board with the framerate problems, but when you go from 09 to 08 the difference is nothing short of massive. 360 users won't notice it as much I imagine, but ps3 users are in for a huge treat.

though i can't give very good feedback coming from the totally different platform. i couldn't tell you if its better or worse than last years...

I know this is a thread for NHL 09 but is there anyone here that prefers 2K9 (or the 2K series) over 09 (or the EA series)? Every year I play each version and every year I buy the 2K version. I just enjoy it far more. I really liked the controls from 2K8 which, unfortunately, they took out this year. They seemed very natural. I'm just not a fan of the shoot stick in NHL 09 (or 08). Anyone with me?
