Default Engine Issues

Avoiding the whole long story, I had reason to believe that the Check Engine Light came on in my Truck because I was low on Transmission Fluid.
I checked it (following the steps in my owners manual) and it appeared bone dry.

I picked up some Fluid today to ad in. I decided to check it again, and now it appears to be overfilled. WTF?

The fluid on the ATF dipstick is very clear, except for little chunks sparsely along the dipstick in the fluid.

Problem 2:
I've got a continuous squeak when I'm accelerating in first gear until I hit 2200 RPM's. I checked my alternator belt and it definitely needs replacing, but I'm not convinced that's the issue as the squeak sounds as if its coming from beneath me (the driver)...WTF?

My experience says the "Check Engine Light" has nothing to do with the transmission! Exactly why did you think it was a tranny problem? newer vehicles with computers will tell you if you have a tranny problem but as far as I know you only know a tranny problem from feel.
And i have never heard of transmission squeak sound in my life. Most check engine lights come on because of a faulty sensor like an oil pressure or oxygen sensor and many many more now days.

As far as over filling the tranny. Did you check the level with the engine running and warmed up?

I've heard of Transmissions makeing a "Slurp" noise from being low on fluid.

ATF should be pink and there shouldnt be chunks of solid on the dipstick. The squeak could be a bearing or the transmission is cooked.
