Chicken on the way 50th anniversary today
Now, I probably get 'food' from this place once a year. Not the best quality and I know people consider it an eyesore on 14th and Kensington. However, I respect that it is quite a staple in Calgary and I congratulate them in being a successful business.
Went in and got a couple pieces of chicken and a couple corn fritters. They're giving away gift bags too!

FYI, last time I was there I did ask the girl at the counter if there was a "club" downstairs - although I didn't specify the kind of "club", as even my lack of social awareness has its bounds. She just looked at me as if I was some kind of idjit and said, "No, where did you hear that?"
So I guess either there is no club, or I didn't give the secret signal. My bet is on the latter. The sex-illuminati are out there. Or down there. And greasy.

We're selective about who we let into the club. You probably weren't attractive enough.

Gawd, this thread is funny.
The place has been there since 1958 and the first thing we think of is "sex club in basement" based on, IIRC, an internet rumor.
My guess is that whatever you might find in the basement of a 50 year old fried chicken joint is more distasteful than a swinger's hangout.

COTW is so good, but its sooooo bad......... 
Needless to say that its a landmark. We may not be proud of it, but its still there and its been curing hangovers and fueling benders since the 50s....
