Default How many weeks holidays do you get??

(did a quick search, hope this isn't fata)

I'm just curious how many weeks holidays you'll be getting in 2009.

Things I'd like to compare:
1 - how many weeks your getting.
2 - Industry.
3 - Years experience and years at current company.
4 - Employee or Contractor.
5 - did you negotiate for more than standard when interviewing.
6 - City/Country your in.

7 - Do you get flex days or personal days, and if so, how many per year?

(I'm more interested in Calgary market, but a international or country wide comparison might be interesting too.)

I'm pretty interested in this as well, as I feel like I'm not getting near enough vacation. I think another part of the question should also be:

7 - Do you get flex days or personal days, and if so, how many per year?

My answers:

1 - how many weeks you're getting: 3 weeks
2 - Industry: IT Consulting
3 - Years experience and years at current company: 8 years experience, 4 at current company
4 - Employee or Contractor: Employee
5 - did you negotiate for more than standard when interviewing: No
6 - City/Country you're in: Calgary/Canada
7 - Do you get flex days or personal days, and if so, how many per year? No

so I'll answer my own question...

1 -I get 3 weeks by default we can purchase 1 week with benefits flex dollars and we are getting a extra week in 2009 for putting up with a lot of change. so I will have 5 weeks in 2009.
2,3 - I've been in Telecommunications 6 years, we get 4 weeks at 7. All my telco experience at current company
4 - Employee
5 - No
6 - Calgary
7 - we do get a few flex days I think 2, and we can use benifit flex dollars to buy up to 5 extra days... not everyone can afford to use dollars for that though.

7 - Do you get flex days or personal days, and if so, how many per year? What are flex days? Are these the new sick days or are these on top of sick days? Never heard of flex days before. I'm management, I could not show up for work for a week and people probably wouldn't know. Does that count as a flex day?

I've got it pretty sweet

1 - how many weeks your getting.7weeks vacation+1 week floaters+ 3 weeks supplementary vacation that can be used anytime during a 5 year period + banked time earned from overtime at a 1/1 ratio. Basically I'm retired.
2 - Industry.Pulp/paper
3 - Years experience and years at current company.33
4 - Employee or Contractor.Employee
5 - did you negotiate for more than standard when interviewing.Standard contract
6 - City/Country your in.Sunshine coast

7 - Do you get flex days or personal days, and if so, how many per year?No we're 24/7/365 but we do get payed for stat holidays(7) that occur on our day off. The stats we work are paid at roughtly triple time and a 1/2 or double time and a 1/2 plus 12 hours banked time to be used for more time off.

This is probably why my company is losing their a$$ right now. We are currently in contract negotiations and they want some of this back.
