Stephen Avenue Restaurants
I'm looking for recommended casual dining restaurants on Stephan Avenue. I have been to Milestones already, so I'm looking for a restaurant around the same type of thing. Perhaps a bit cheaper as well. Got any good ones?

Not sure if you are a fan of the Met or Earls, but they are only a few blocks away from Milestones.
Not bad food and in the same price range you are looking for.

Catch can be good, but might be more expensive than you are looking for.

Try "Juan's" Mexican food restaurant on Stephen Avenue. It might not be for everyone, but it's very good, cost effective, Mexican food with good service. Plus after dinner it turns into a Salsa bar! It's located at 8th Ave and 2nd street in the basement next to the Scotia tower enterance.

The g/f and I really enjoy DiVinos... bit more pricey than Milestone's but good food.

No, closed down a couple years ago. In its place is a new place called "Tangerine." Judging from the outside it looks like a pretentious hangout for the nuveau rich metrosexual crowd, but then again I haven't been inside yet so I must try to avoid judging a book by its cover.

I like Saltlik. It might not be looked at as a really casual place but the food is good and the menu has something for everyone.

while good, i would call saltlik like an earl's version of a steakhouse...actually, if i'm not mistaken it's owned by earl's, too...it's more upscale casual...that said, since it's a steakhouse, it'll cost a little more to eat there than earl's, think keg prices...i know you were saying you didn't want to consult a loans officer prior to eating, so if it's steak you want, this is a good moderate priced option
if looking for a more upscale steakhouse i would say chicago chophouse on stephen ave and 5th st. it's just a little off the pedestrian only area of stephen ave... the only other upscale ones worth recommending are off stephen ave. such as caesars or vintage chophouse.
i don't really recommend ruth's chris because it's american beef, and they heat their plates so the bottom part of the steak is always cooked more than the top from the heat on the plate. it gives an uneven cook job even if the chef does it right...

I don't really know if this is what you're looking for, but one of my favourite places to go is Avenue Diner. It's only open until 2 or 3 in the afternoon, but whenever I go out for lunch, and am in the area, I almost always go there. It's like breakfast diner food, but made with a lot of locally grown fresh produce and so very good. I recommend it to anyone who asks.

And that's why Cowboy likes it there so much.
