Default Any WestJetter's on here?

I'm sure there are at least a few people here employed with wesjet! I applied for a maintenance position that I'm hoping to at least get an interview for and I'm trying to get prepared for it. The one thing I do know is it's a "behavioral based" interview. Any tips, suggestions, comments? Any bit of info on the process and what exactly the recruiters are looking for would be appreciated!

A friend of mine is a FA with westjet, she said this site was very helpful to her.

Not sure if it would be the same interview tactic, I would assume not since a mechanic kind if needs prior skills where as an FA is more on the job type stuff that you cant really train for.

I was at a seminar done by a former hirer of WJ a few months ago. Being a dynamic, vertically integrated organization (at least for those positions, not sure about maintainence) they like their employees to be actively sociable and to be comfertable meeting many people in short periods of time. More freedom and less need for structure. I can't remember the exact questions she said she would ask in an interview, but it would be with the idea of figuring out how comfertable you are with people you don't know. Dunno if that helps... or if any WJers know more then I do and think I'm full of crap.

Right on, thanks for the link! Some good tips in there.

I would suggest looking at our mission, vision and values. Given you're looking at a maintenance role, try to tie a lot of your responses back to safety. The behavioural interviews aren't that bad, mine was my future manager and a recruiter from the people department. A lot of "Tell me about a time when ..." Make sure you have lots of examples and that you can justify the decisions you made. BTW, there are often multiple interviews. Your first one may be more technical, to prove you actually know what you claim to know on your resume.

They asked me only three questions, all behaviour based "what I did when faced with conflict at my workplace" and others along those lines.. They quite often have someone from a random department interview people depending on the job as well, to see how well you meet new people I assume. I definitely met a TON of people at the first interview.
