Default Rescue Cat Needs Good Home!

Hey Guys,

Over a month ago, my girlfriend and I found an injured cat that had been abandoned and hit by a car. We took her in for two surgeries and is fully recovered now, and we are trying to find her a really good home.

She is 5 years old, very healthy, LOVES people, and is extremely friendly. We would keep her but we already have two cats and we can't have over 2 cats in the building we live in, not to mention she needs more space.

We are looking for a really good cat-loving home, where she could be an indoor cat, never declawed and where she can get lots of attention. She seems like she would get along with another adult cat without too much trouble.

Please let us know if you or anyone you know could give her a good home.

Here are pictures!!

She had to be confined to recover after her surgery (Our boy kitten is sneaking his paw into her food):

She enjoys boxes:

Here she is looking out a window. Her belly looks funny because it is shaved. She should look pretty normal once the hair grows back.

Sleeping with her inflatable collar to keep her from licking her incisions.

When she had stitches:

Awww what a cute cat! She could definitely use a loving home...Wish I had the time and resources to own a cat, I've missed my old one ever since we put him down in 2004.

I'm leaving for a week holidays tomorrow. If you still have her when we get back on the 17th, we can talk. We relatively recently lost our cat of 10 years (lost, as in died, not as in misplaced at the grocery store) and the wife is bugging me almost daily about getting another animal.

I do have 2 small chlidren though (7 and 3). Any issues with kids that you know about?

Good on you guys for doing the right thing! If my cat wasn't deathly afraid of other cats (and dogs, ironing boards, the wind and the sound of nylon) we'd totally take her.

Hi, this is the girlfriend here, thanks for your interest. Very sorry to hear about your cat.

We don't know if she likes kids or not, we've never seen her around them. My guess would be yes because she hasn't met an adult yet that she doesn't run right up to. My only concern with kids would be that they're gentle with her. She had major surgery and still needs to be handled carefully around her abdomen. Also, she's still getting used to being an indoor cat. We haven't had a problem since we live in an apartment, but I would think she'd need to be watched really closely around open doors.

Also, we didn't mention that we're in Edmonton right now but would of course be happy to make the trip with her if we found a great home.

If you want more info on her please let us know.

The cat isn't a Oilers fan, is it?

If it was, I'm certain that Finner would have done the right thing and had it put down.

I've already got four cats in my house, and my mom has three, so can't help out. But, +1 for bringing it back to health.

Do you know if the cat has had any experience to small dogs?

When we first took her in she had to stay away from our cats so she stayed at my parents' place. They have a cat-friendly bichon shi tzu. She was around him a few times and seemed a little apprehensive, but there was no hissing or running away or anything. I think she'd be best if the dog was pretty calm but my guess would be she could get along with a small dog with some time and patience.
