Where to buy Sunglasses in Calgary (or Edm)?
Hey folks,
So, I left my $200 Serengeti's at Denny's (of all places) on the table. Went back a couple hours later and they were gone, and the staff didnt seem to 'remember' seeing them in the lost and found.
Of course, I am heading up to Edmonton for the Indy races tomorrow, where you basically look straight against the sun for the entire day while sitting on bright and shiny aluminum bleachers. Sun glasses (and TONS of sunscreen) are a must.
I would love to have the time to order some new glasses online and save some money, but I dont have that luxury right now.
Can anyone recommend a place in Calgary or Edmonton that has a good selection of very high quality sunglasses at a 'reasonable' price?
Thanks!

I've bought a few pairs of Oakley's at O-Zone.
They seem to be pretty good.

I know it sounds like they sell watches, which they do, but they also have a good variety of sunglasses as well.

Because I dont want to stare into the sun for 3 days with cheap glasses. Shoes and glasses are two things I will never cheap out on. It is too easy to wreck your feet and your eyes.

7 replies and no one mentioned Spare Parts!!!
They carry all the sporty brands like Oakley, Spy, Von Zipper, Smith, etc.
They won't have the designer brands though.

Yeah, I didn't mention them because I find they are usually a little more expensive.
They do have a good selection though.

From what I've seen, prices for designer sunglasses are pretty much the same whereever you go, and they are rarely on sale. Maybe a $5-$10 difference on a $200 pair.

Winners carry designer brands at a very reduced price. There is also a place by sundridge mall called Designer Depot. They have very good prices but not the selection at Winners. The best selection is at the Winners on Heritage. Trust me, I frequent them all..often!Good Luck. IF you don't care about cost, my husband gets his at Sunglass Hut. He swears by REVO..they cost almost 400 but he said he's never had glasses that good.

Go to a golf place and get Sundog's. They're good enough for Paula Creamer.

LOL. Good one! Yeah, they are, but from our seats on the west side of the track, you look eastward all day.
I will check out some of these places this evening. Would have never thought of Winners. It isnt so much that I must spend $800 on glasses ... I just want good high quality at the best price possible. Make sense?

Ended up at Sunglasses Hut, and bought Maui Jim glasses. The polarized real glass lense provides great visual clarity which is important with the amount of rural driving I do.
I would have probably shopped around more, but Sunglasses Hut has an unconditional 90 day refund. If I dont like these once I hit the road, I can take em back after I find a better pair.

Maui Jim are really good glasses. My husband had a hard time deciding between them and the revos..I think the deciding factor was which ones fit him better, but he read up alot on the Maui Jims and said they are very good quality.
