Obama Announcing His VP Via Text/e-Mail
Barack Obama's Campaign Manager David Plouffe has announced that Obama will announce his VP selection to his supporters first via text and e-mail.
CNN:
Quote:
"Barack Obama is about to make one of the most important decisions of this campaign — choosing a running mate," Obama campaign manager David Plouffe wrote in an e-mail to supporters Sunday night. "You have helped build this movement from the bottom up, and Barack wants you to be the first to know his choice."

If you want to sign up or just want to see it on his website you can go here: BarackObama.com
Anyway, I was just pondering the Obama campaign's masterful use of the grassroots movement, the internet, and the youth vote. I don't think I have ever seen any politician in any country mobilize the populace the way that Obama has done in the US. Kind of inspiring, almost makes me want to be a politician.
Note: I realize that there is a US election thread already. Thought this might get buried in there and is worthy of discussion on its own. Mods feel free to delete or move at your discretion.

Just signed up. I really like Obama, if I was American I would vote for him over McCain. The only probably I have with him as a Canadian is he might actually improve their dollar!

That would be a good thing. Pros of a lower Canadian dollar drastically outweigh the cons.

Neither unless you count 4 different air based vacations (all based in the America's, North and South) in the last year extensive.
What I do buy is electronics, use Ebay, will soon purchase a new vehicle all of which are significantly cheaper with a par dollar. Also for stocks I own, the par dollar has been golden.
I agree for buisnesses whose buisness model requires the low Canadian dollar to be competetive, they are hurt but in the end I dont feel sorry for them because they were exploiting a financial margin rather than honestly competing with other companies.
As per the topic of this forum, its very innovative on Obama's part. But colour me skeptical that an average Joe suppoter is going to know about his VP choice before the media does.
