5th Wedding Anniversary Ideas
Hey CP'ers
Coming up to the 5th Wedding Anniversary and wondered if you all had some suggestions for Anniversary gifts/celebrations. The theme for the fifth is silver and or wood (cue the "Just giv'er wood" jokes).
Also, no need for "Hooker and Blow" gift suggestions...giving the same thing for three anniversaries in a row would be tacky.

Is she a vampire?
If so, then silver is definitely out, so best to go with something in the wood category. Except a stake, that would be bad.

Sit down with your spouse at a nice restaurant and raise your glass and toast to a great 5 years. Then add "But you know, I think that will do" then go and hit on someone in the bar.

Go to a wiican conversion ceremony together
When I first saw that thread I was like what is Can for the Wii.
Seriously, take her to Silver Wood http://www.silverwoodthemepark.com/
They have this sweet ride where you are in mini battleships and you shoot eachother, it was great fun when I was 14.

Ok, the traditional gift/symbol for 5th wedding anniversaries is wood. I found this as a suggestion on a site.
"Stuff a wooden box with a love note, book on romance, love coupons, picture of the two of you, etc."
As a woman, I would be pleased to get personal things enclosed in a nice wooden gift box. Use your imagination to make it personal for just the two of you.

Interesting timing, as my 5-year wedding anniversary is this week
You can find suggestions on google; this site lists all of the years with suggestions for each: http://www.unique-gift-inspirations....s-by-year.html
We never followed the "list" so we won't follow the wood/silver theme for this year; I knew a guy who bought his wife a new car for the first anniversary (and partially screwed himself in the process because he'll never be able to top that!)

My wife and I have dropped the gift giving on our anniversaries and valentines day. I think that happened during the first year of our marriage when I was going back to school and my wife was laid off and the money was tight. My wife quickly found another job, but I was still in school, then I got a job where pay was poor and always late. Now that I have a better job we could return to giving gifts on anniversaries, but we've become accustomed to not doing it.
We just make sure we spend an evening together w/o the kids. If you have kids, just taking your wife on a date is a fantastic present.

For the fifth anniversary, I recommend sex. Lots of dirty sex! That's what I recommend for the tenth, 15th and 20th, too, so don't bother asking again.

See Fotze, the right way is to fill a wooden box with stuff...not stuff a box with wood...

WEll if it was my anniversary, and the theme was silver..i would want a Tiffany silver heart bracelet. www.tiffany.ca . I think you can get them at Holt too. You'd have to phone them. EVERY woman wants a tiffany heart bracelet right now, they are the hottest thing going. If she doesnt like bracelets they have necklace versions. You can get a necklace for around 200 and the bracelets are 305.

I am going to agree with redforever's suggestion of getting something more personal. As a chick, I would be thrilled if a guy gave me something that represented something meaningful to me or the both of us, as opposed to something he just ran into a store and purchased without really putting thought into it.

If silver is a theme, there's a really pretty heart tag silver bracelet from Tiffany. You can get it engraved too. The bracelet looks beautiful when dressed up, but is also appropriate for every day wear. Plus, every girl loves to see that little blue box.

what about a new big screen tv and PVR package? "Now we can spend more time together...."
(note: that hasn't worked so well in my house, but the logic is sound so I'm guessing we're an anomoly)
silver earrings, with matching bracelet and necklace would be most appreciated in my house.
what about dinner out at Silvertip Golf Course in Canmore, and then a long walk in the woods? You've hit both that way? Rent a condo and make a weekend of it.

Chalk me up as one girl who would NEVER want a Tiffany silver heart bracelet. I really don't think they are that nice, plus EVERYONE either has one or wants one. I'd rather something a bit more original, and that had more thought put in to it, rather than just "everyone has one, my girl must want one too!"
