If you shoot the giver of iced lactate treats, you sir, will most certainly be hung by your thumbs, and fry in Hell. I do believe that's on the list of crimes even the criminals will hate you for.
Seriously though, it's not just bells? That's all it is here.

Haha I was a Dickie Dee guy way back when I was 15, goin around Sicome Lake. Not on the truck of course, just on those bikes with the brutal bells, and believe me I was ready to blow my own head off. But the people were just as bad as the bells. People used to always bitch at me because the bells would drive them crazy(and me as well). So I'd flip them up so they wouldn't work, and then other people would bitch at me for not having them on, because they wouldn't be able to hear when I was coming. Talk about a vicious circle...I was ready to ram that bike right up someone's ass.

I so agree. In fact if they just had bells or some other less annoying thing to announce their presence, I would actually buy ice cream from them.

The clown music isn't nearly as annoying as the sound of my kids whining "Daddy, can we get some ice cream.... Daddy! I want ice cream!!! Daddy! Daddy!! DAAAAAAAAAADDY!!!!!"

Your right they should change the music theyve been using for so long. Maybe something more modern...like gangsta rap. Lets here the ice cream man pound out some Fitty, yellin about his hoes and what not. I'm sure your child will enjoy that. Or on the other side of modern how about the worst fad since parachute pants...emo! Ya get your happy kid some ice cream and bring em down with some kids from the suburbs screaming about how terrible their life is because their daddy didnt buy them a car for their 16th birthday. Great for kids. I LOVE THE ICE CREAM MAN

The question I have is: why does he have the need to drive around my neighbourhood at 9:15pm, blaring that god awful music, and wake up my 1 year old!

The chances of the ice cream man being a sexual predator are ridiculously high so the correct answer is probably not.

The wife laughs everytime she hears the DD truck come around the house here because my blood starts to boil. Why should we all have to hear that God-awful song for hours on end every night? Ugh...

I wouldn't be so bad if they had the old style bells / organ / whatever.
That stupid megaphone on top of the glorified golf cart is beyond annoying, and the pitch of the music is, I'm sure, designed to irritate any over the age of 12.
