Haha, and are there any extension cords included in the rent? Like a free giveaway kind of thing.

Yeah it really depends on the age of the house, the quality of the kitchen appliances, bathroom quality and what not.

I would hazard a guess that rent would be in the 800/per range...

^^^ Yup, I'd say $1,200. Also depends where in Varsity. You can be a 30 minute walk from the train or a 2 minute walk.

No if its 1 bedroom and a basement, 800/850 depending on how nice it was I might pay up to 950.

On this topic, what would a three bedroom, 2.5 bath townhouse in Killarney rent for? New ceramic tile, stainless steel applainces,. Just over 1100 sq/ft (not including basement which has one of the three bedrooms and bath). Sorry to derail this thread.

Well, for comparison's sake I live in Capitol Hill (which is right beside Confederation Park Golf Course) and I pay $1000+utl for a similar suite and distance from the U of C/LRT.
I remember when I moved in there I looked at some places in Varsity and they were around the same price. It all depends on the condition of the house, but it's probably in that 1000+utl ballpark. This was in March though and I'm sure the renting market changes in July/August where they have students by the balls.
Last year 3 friends and I rented an old (but big) house in Varsity for $1550/month. It was in fairly good shape. The only problem is that we were a solid 15 minute bike ride from the university and barely in walking distance for the LRT. If the house was closer to both they probably could've charged us a lot more.

No free fridge, it's probably 5 mins max to the train.

I'm in a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom house in Killarney and we each pay 550, so 1650 including the utilities (not internet or phone). When were you thinking of renting it out?? I might be interested..
