Blues/Leafs Deal...
the man everybody loves to hate is on his way to St.Louis. Going to Toronto is CPHL Rookie of the Year, Phil Kessel and a bag of Cash. Coming back to the Blues is super pest Sean Avery, along with prospects Bill Sweatt and Danik Paquette.
Avery is still only 28 and looks to be entering his prime. He adds leadership and some defense to the forward ranks and has also been a favorite of mine. It was tough giving up Phil, but I wanted to feild a big more experienced team this year and didn't really take much of an OV hit on the trade. Getting the kids was a plus as I'm getting thin in the ECHL ranks. Sweatt is a college speedster who will take a couple years to develop. Paquette is an Avery clone with a bit more finish.
Overall we're pretty happy with how things worked out. Thanks to the Leafs for listening to our constant Avery trade offers
