Best Calgary Patios?!
In the spirit of the 'Best Calgary Restaurant' threads, I am curious what peoples favorite (secret!?) outdoor eating spots are?
In this case i am not looking for fancy (or not fancy) but just the places people head to eat (sit down, not like Peter's Drive-In) when it is nice and sunny out and they want to have a good chat with friends?
I know I definitely have my own favorites, from Divino's or James Joyce to Brava or the Living Room (Or just Jamesons or Kilkenny when i am up in the NW near home, but neither of those are fantastic either...) - but what are some others i might not know of?
I want some new places to go!?
(And are there any Vietnamese, Indian or Thai places with good patios? I know of a few with so-so patio's, but those with good ones?)
Claeren.

Thinking about patios makes me miss the rooftop patio at Ceili's.

I heard that Mile One has been approved for a roof top patio. I also heard that it will be the biggest in the city, if they end up developing it. So that will be pretty sweet when it happens.
Original Joes patio is always decent. The new one on 130 ave SW is good.

Loco Lou's was always good, although being right on 16 ave is kind of a bummer.
I actually found the Den to have a great patio, what with the trees jutting up from ground level. Zeferelli's in Kensington is also a little gem.

My favorites to enjoy a pint on are Molly Malones in Kensington and Broken City on 11th. Both are great rooftop Patio's.
Spent last night on the Rose and Crown patio...also a good one to relax on.

Broken City (not sure it's still called that) has a really awesome rooftop patio overlooking the former Electric Ave. And the Joey's at Chinook has a sweet one too - great place for a date.

Most Calgary patios are terrible with their glass windows and views of parking lots.
That makes this thread all the more useful for pointing out the few good ones. The trouble is, there are maybe 10 nights a year in this city where it stays warm enough late enough.
The Toad and Turtle in the NE is pretty good with it's vantage point of the city and mountains and gets good sunset views too. It's on the 2nd floor, but still kind of overlooks a parking lot. ugh

A good one.
Two of my faves:
The Yardhouse on 17th and the upstairs patio at Limerick's.

Yep, it's still called that. That's my favorite.

Julio's Barrio in Kensington has OK Mexican and a nice rooftop patio. I like drinking on Shileghleighs (sp) patio in signal hill.

My favorite patio of all time was the one at Tullamore in Kensington. I guess the patio's still there, but the food and beer at the one that's there now (Jupiter or something?) doesn't come remotely close to Tullamore. Right now I really don't have a favorite. Maybe the upstairs one at the Barley Mill.

Yeah Calgary seems to lack the rooftop patio. Nothing beats it. One of my fondest memories is from when I was visiting New York, and spent a great night on a roof top patio....perfect temperature, in the shadow of the Empire State Building. Just looked around and thought "This is frickin cool".
Roof top patios are the best. The Embassy used to have a real good one here in town.

We went to Alloy the other night, and while it wasn't actually nice enough for us to sit outside, we all commented on what a great patio they have. I'm going to go back again so I can sit out there. Plus the food was amazing!

Hop in Brew has a cute little deck, only for a few people -- but its really awesome if you get it. I also love Broken City's rooftop patio

The Embassy and later, Mint Ultralounge (yes the first was cooler) had a great nightclub rooftop.
Melrose is always good if you don't mind the chach...
